Overview of Layport
- Sketchup version: SU2023 and above

Fredo Layport helps to visualize in Sketchup the rectangle area (Layport) which will be displayed in a Layout document for a Scene based on its current camera.

The main features are:
Create and manage Layports of any size and assign them to scenes. The Layport dimensions can be extracted from existing Layout documents.
Center Objects at any nested level within a Layport, with margins and optional auto-centering.
Assign paper scale to 2D Scenes , so that they can be printed at scale
QuickPrint function to generate a PDF for printing a selection of scenes, with a basic presentation, and the respect of paper scale, if defined. You can also generate explicitly a Layout document and / or a PDF document.

Installation of Layport
IMPORTANT: Make sure that you have first installed LibFredo6.
Layport is released as a regular RBZ extension file on the Sketchucation Site.
To download the RBZ file, use the red button on the right side of this page:
- Download If your are already logged in.
- Log in to get it! otherwise, in order to log in or to register to Sketchucation as a new user (this is FREE). Then you will be able to download the RBZ file.
Then, you can install the RBZ file from within Sketchup, via the Sketchup Extension Manager
If you are not familiar with the installation of Sketchup extensions and Sketchucation, it is advised to watch the video LibFredo6 installation.
IMPORTANT: Whatever way you choose, you MUST quit and restart Sketchup to get Layport (and LibFredo6) properly loaded.
After the installation, you should have the following footprint in the Sketchup Plugins directory:

- Language: English
- Menus: by default, it is installed in Tools > Fredo6 Collection > Layport...
- Icon toolbar: Layport

Documentation
Layport includes a Quick Card which can be invoked from its menu. It contains a structured help, as well as ** short videos** that can be played within Sketchup to illustrate features.
