A limitation of SU for design teams is the difficulty in co-ordinating effort, which Ret and Archid allow. SU is natively suited to single user per project workflow. This plugin allows each team member to work on a portion of a project, but be able to visually reference other workers' modelling into their own workspace. It graphically indicates if the references are current or if the sources have changed and allows for easy updating. It has considerable smarts under the hood that include overcoming a deal-breaking limitation of using the native Import function. Namely, this is the problem of re-referencing and superimposing multiple copies of one's own and others' work when everyone imports everyone else's models to use as references. As a consequence it offers a key functionality in using SU and Layout as an end to end design and documentation tool in a multi-person office as an alternative to Ret and Archid - with the cost and productivity implications of a single environment and not needing to port the project to these other applications at a certain stage of design.
