Commands can be found in the context menu (right-click) when at least an object is selected. Commands in the submenu may vary depending on what is selected (a group, component, or something else).

Please read 'Components+.pdf' in the Resources sub-folder of the plugin folder.

1 .Save group as component: Sketchup considers groups as special components, so groups have a definition like regular components. The command asks were to save the group and its name. - default location is the same as the model. - axes of the new component are the axes of the old group. - the old group isn’t replaced by the new component.

  1. Save groups as components: Select a group. Same as above, except that you are asked for a folder where to save all your groups.

  2. Mark component axes : Select a group or a component. A group is created with the 3 axes of the group and a text of its name. In the outliner, the group is named “Axes of…”

  3. Place an instance of...: Select a group or a component. An instance of the selected group or component comes at the cursor. The placement is always made at the ‘top level’ of the model. This command is especially useful when your model contains hundreds of components, because (how come) we don’t have a search field in the components palette. You can find a component with the outliner, but this is slow.

  4. Place an instance by search : Select an object, no matter what it is; a following dialog appears to let you choose an existing filter, set a new filter (wildcards allowed), or place a component selected in a sorted list.

  5. Save components/groups thumbnails: Select an object, no matter what it is. You are asked to also save a thumbnail of the model. When the saving is done, a web page is displayed (close button at the bottom of the page) All the thumbnail are stored in a sub-folder of the model’s folder, named ‘Thumbnails model_name’
