Quick-Start Guide
Activate MAJBeam Open the MAJBeam tab and click the Beam icon.
Set Beam Parameters Enter the following before placing the beam:
Beam Width – thickness of the beam
Beam Height – vertical height of the beam
Neck First – size of the first neck section
Neck Second – size of the second neck section
Stirrup Distance – spacing between stirrups
Stirrup Size – thickness of stirrups
Ribar Size – diameter of rebars
Ribar Number – number of rebars inside the beam
Place the Beam
Click the start point where the beam begins.
Click the end point where the beam ends. The beam will be created automatically.

MAJ_Beam – Plugin Documentation
Version: 2026 Author: Majid Mahmoudi
Overview
MAJBeam is a SketchUp plugin designed to help architects, engineers, and designers quickly create reinforced concrete beams with precise dimensions and structural details. It supports both simple and complex beams, including neck sections and rebar arrangements. The plugin is fully compatible with other MAJ Architect tools like MAJWall, ensuring seamless integration into your building model workflow.
Features
Create beams with exact Width, Height, and Elevation.
Define Neck First and Neck Second sections for stepped beams.
Automatically place Stirrups with custom spacing and size.
Add Rebars with specific diameter and quantity.
Align beams along edges, lines, or existing geometry.
Generate beams as grouped entities for easy editing, moving, or copying.
Fully integrated into MAJ Architect workflow.
Quick-Start Guide
Activate MAJBeam Open the MAJBeam tab and click the Beam icon.
Set Beam Parameters Enter the following before placing the beam:
Beam Width – thickness of the beam
Beam Height – vertical height of the beam
Neck First – size of the first neck section
Neck Second – size of the second neck section
Stirrup Distance – spacing between stirrups
Stirrup Size – thickness of stirrups
Ribar Size – diameter of rebars
Ribar Number – number of rebars inside the beam
Place the Beam
Click the start point where the beam begins.
Click the end point where the beam ends. The beam will be created automatically.
Detailed Instructions Setting Parameters
Beam Width & Height: Determines the main dimensions of the beam.
Neck Sections: Optional steps in the beam’s profile, used for structural detailing.
Stirrups: Vertical reinforcement; define spacing and thickness to match design standards.
Rebars: Horizontal reinforcement inside the beam; set diameter and number.
Placement
The beam aligns automatically between the start and end points.
Beams are created as groups, allowing you to modify or copy them without affecting other geometry.
Editing
You can edit parameters and reposition beams at any time.
The plugin ensures that rebar and stirrup placements update automatically when beam dimensions change.
Tips & Best Practices
Always set beam dimensions before placing the beam.
Use snap to edge or endpoint in SketchUp for precise alignment.
Combine MAJBeam with MAJWall to model beams embedded in walls.
For complex models, create beams in separate layers for easier management.
Compatibility
Works with SketchUp 2023–2026 (Windows & Mac).
Compatible with all other MAJ Architect plugins.
