SJ Components To Scenes    v0.1.2

  • Overview
  • Quick Start
  • Release Notes

SJ Components To Scenes is a plugin that creates a scene for each definition of the selected instances.

This is a rewrite of TimRowledge's "ComponentsScenes" plugin which worked great up until the 2019 version of Sketchup.

  • I added prefix options for layer and scene names and Sketchup > 2021 the ability to place created tags in a customizable folder.

  • It is accessible from the menu >Extensions>Simjoubert Tools>Components To Scenes.
    **Menu d'acces**

  • Or from the SJ Components To Scenes toolbar.

*Automatic translation according to local Sketchup settings.
Languages supported English and French.

V 0.1.2 2022/07/25 Addition of an attribute in each generated scene with the persistent ID of the definition of the component isolated in the scene as its value. It allows my other plugin SJ Batch Export Scenes To Thumbnails, to create an attribute with the URL of the exported image in the definition of the component isolated in the scenes. This allows to generate a report with the URL of the image to make mail merge in Indesign for example.

V 0.1.1 2022/07/20 Fixed a bug on the scene name prefix if it was different from that of the layers. Thanks Jack!

V 0.1.0 2021/12/21 initial release Rewrote TimRowledge's ComponentScenes extension that I couldn't debug. Added a form for entering a scene name prefix, a prefix for tag names and whether they should be grouped into a folder. Added conditions on Sketchup versions because there have been a lot of changes in the API:

2021 Folder management
2020.1 Layer in tags
page.use_hidden_objects et page.use_hidden_geometrie remplace page.use_hidden
2020 page.set_drawingelement_visibility no prior equivalent
