[REQ] Intelligent Hole Detection

Postby plot-paris » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:35 am

When using surfaces with holes in them, Skatter is unable to recognize the whole area.
Dividing it into rectangular surfaces helps.
There is no problem at all with a highly divided surface (e.g. terrain).

If you have a flat surface with organic holes in it, you have to subdivide it to get a proper skattering effect. alternatively you could use a separate object with the "holes" as surfaces and use it to exclude it from area.

My question: Might it be possible for Skatter to automatically detect these holes and do the work for you? Its not too big an issue, for you can always subdivide the surface. But it would be nice to have Skatter perform flawlessly, with or without holes...

Tomasz reported this a while ago, but I completely forgot about it... Thanks for bringing it up!

I'll try to fix it asap.
