[Q] Radial Distribution

Is it possible currently or can we possibly put it on the wish list to have radial distribution? I have a project that will require a 3D crowd to be sitting on a lawn in an outdoor amphitheater and I can see this being a powerful Skatter feature for crowds at concerts and sporting events.

That would be cool, but where would you get enough 3D people models to make such a crowd? You'd have to have at least 5 to 10 so you could make 100 people and you'd have to find some way of shuffling they're colors...

Now that I think of it, maybe an Object ID pass could do it.

To create that crowd, you can simply use an area with the shape you want, with a density falloff. Don't forget to untick Use Surface Boundaries.
You can also add a PointSet to add some items outside the area.

And how would you point all component's axis to the center of the action? I think that is what is difficult here...

I guess that was what I was asking for. Being able to have a point that all the components point to. How does Forest Pro tackle crowds?

I guess you could also use another plugin to just distribute along the spline, but that would not be as fun as Skatter. ;)
