Treadle LatheJust for fun and to avoid work I should be doing. I still need to work out the exact position for the treadle and the pitman link. Might redo the belt to make it match the crown of the pulley on the headstock. Etaoin Shrdlu

Re: Treadle LatheThank you all!
I'm about finished making the belt crown over the headstaock pulley. It's still flat around the big wheel, though. One of those details no one will likely ever see. ![]() Etaoin Shrdlu

Re: Treadle Lathemaybe check out the mechanics of an old Singer treadle sewing machine. the ergonomics of that machine were pretty.
Re: Treadle Lathe
All the parts are there. I just need to postion the crank and the pitman in the correct orientation. No big deal. A lot easier than timing a steam engine which I've done in several sketchUp models. Thank you Rich. Etaoin Shrdlu

Re: Treadle LatheIt'd have to be a really big cake with an excellent bottle of whiskey to make me do that.

Re: Treadle LatheThank you!
Here I've linked the treadle (although I haven't modeled the leather cord connecting the treadle to the pitman yet. I also made the belt conform to the crowned headstock pulley while it's still flat around the big wheel. Etaoin Shrdlu
