Alpine Village - Study in photorealism with Thea Render
Old work from Feb 2018 - Made with SketchUp 2018 + Thea Render for SketchUp
Fog testing...

The project specifically focused on finding a believable balance between Thea's fog medium and the camera's DOF (Depth of field values) over large distances. Presto MC was used for this project and the DOF chosen for these renders was set to 3 with a focal distance at a rooftop in the middle of the village.

The fog medium value was set at 1 and the balance between HDR lighting and sun "power" did the rest. This swiss village project was constructed using 3d warehouse models and KP's large Alpine Hotel assets https://www.facebook.com/259430530769198/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1647300661982171

Thank you, Bryan.

Here, you can see why the Alpine Hotel model did not need to be highly detailed as it is seen from a distance.

Very sharp, nice to see and a reminder of the different render types possible. Normally I do interiors but will have to try a few more exterior types. :thumb:

Thank you.
I remember what a pleasurable pause from what I was doing that was. Pretty fun deviation.
