This is odd that it relates differently to opening a new model and opening an existing one.
Are you using the same version of SketchUp each time ?
A screenshot of the messages will help us help you through this.
It might not be directly related to this extension.
For example - if the SketchUp error message's list of 'failed' extensions includes SketchUp's own shipped su_... rbe files [usually near the end of the list?], this is indicative of an incorrect installation of SketchUp itself...
[SketchUp copies over these shipped extensions into the user's Plugins folder as it starts up - if there are permission issues this can fail...

In this case do the following...

Whilst logged into Windows as your normal user-account [NOT the system administrator, but if your normal user has some admin-powers that is OK]
Ensure that SketchUp/Layout are closed.
Find the relevant SketchUp installer's exe file - usually in your Downloads folder ?
Select that installer's exe file and right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator"
When prompted choose "Repair".
When it finishes restart SketchUp and see if that has changed anything... report back...
Installing any complex app in Windows must be done this way.
Doing the installation in any other way can lead to unexpected and unpredictable issues - often around file/folder permissions and saving settings.
So NEVER double-click on an installer's exe file to "Run" it - it is not the same thing as the method outlined above, even if your user-account has so admin-powers...

If this is not the case perhaps a screenshot of the Plugin-Manager's dialog and a screenshot of your Plugins folder would help...

I do thank you for taking your precious time to response to my issue.

I have tested it and I notice not all SU files opens in this way.

I precise - A given file opens directly by double click in Sketchup with e SU error message whilst open by starting a new SU file and then opening it gives no errors.

Attached-please-find the error message.

Sketchup has been installed as admin.

In the error message the only failing extension is TT_materials_renamer[.rb]
So immediately I suspect that you do not have a suitable version of the TT_Lib installed.
TT = thomthom's extensions usually need his Lib installed to function correctly...
Get the Lib here.

Download the RBZ and install it, then restart SketchUp to ensure everything is synced properly...
[or if you have the SketchUcation ExtensionStore² installed then you can use its dialog to do this installation automatically, sidestepping the RBZ download...

Hi,

Just want to report back on a small issue that I have with my SketchUcation ExtensionStore 3.1:

I get a message that I should update a plugin* (s4u Connect) that I have bought and installed from the SketchUp Extension Warehouse when I run ExtensionStore. This must be an error, right?

My license info gets screwed up every time that I accidentally update this extension using ExtensionStore 3.1 instead of the place I bought it.

The author of that Extension posted the update 6 days ago - v2.2.9

Its description does not mention it's 'paid', and his 'More Info' link goes off to Facebook - it should go to its SCF page with links off if needed...
First running it asks for a registration/payment - so it's no trial !

I suggest you get in touch with him directly, as adding a seemingly trial version which overwrites an already licensed version is daft !
I note that the PluginStore version does set up a WAREHOUSE=false constant, but how that interacts with the licensing is unclear as the other files are RBE encrypted...

I will also be having a word too...

2020-12-23 I'm having this same problem and it occurs with both v3.1.5 and v4.0.0. I can use the ExtensionStore to "Create" a new login, but I get the same error as you when trying the "Login" button. My Sketchucation credentials work just fine at sketchucation.com in a browser.

It would sure be nice to sort this problem out.

You don't "create new login" for the ExtensionStore³...
You just use the name and password set up for your SketchUcation site membership.
Once you have successfully used it with the ExtensionStore³ you should not be prompted again.

The login details used for the SketchUcation main site, its linked PluginStore [on a separate server and sometimes needing a repeat login], and when you first log into the ExtensioStore³ dialog when it opens from the SketchUcation Tools menu item or toolbar, are all the same...

I couldn't find a forum for Extension Store v 4.0.0, so this seems like the place.

I've been struggling with the ExtensionStore, as it has not been showing the bundles. I presumed that they had been removed sometime, so I uninstalled the extension store, and installed a copy of v3.1.8 that I had on my machine. I still didn't see any bundles.

I had the store open when I noticed the toaster notification of 'settings'. Clicking where the settings button ought to be (getting to the meat of the matter, now), I was able to get to my bundles. But.... the problem with the store is that, for some reason, the icons aren't showing up. For instance, the main page:

Probably not, because the last version 261 did not work, and the new one installs with the message "successful", but the plugin is not visible.

The PluginStore part of the forum has been migrated to a new server.
The https path used in the older ExtensionStore/Tools is therefore likely to be deprecated.
I've pinged Gábor to see what's what...
Can't you run v2017 ?

Remember that you can run the PluginStore in a web-browser, download the desired RBZ and install it in v8 [provided it's a later version] using the Preferences install button, or perhaps the archive installer tool in the SketchUcation menu list...

Since a few days I can't update or install extensions on extension store3 anymore.
I get the following message every time: "UnZIP error: could not unzip archive".
I already updated the extension store tool via download and direct install via Sketchup.
I cleared Firefox cache.
I restarted SketchUp.
I rebooted my computer.
So far nothing worked.
Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

It might be related to the PluginStore getting a new server recently...
Try clearing your web-browser cache [i.e. Internet Explorer, which is currently used within the ExtensionStore³ dialog etc] and then restarting SketchUp.
This should help sync the correct http paths etc.
Report back if it helps, or not...

You need to clear your Microsoft Edge cache. Firefox is not responsible for display of web dialogs in SketchUp.

Same here. Worked fine a couple weeks ago. Was going to download from 3-D warehouse and get a pop up saying
"The 3D warehouse requires an internet connection. Please connect and try again"

Already cleared everything from all browsers. Restarted, rebooted, cussed, and tried again.
Never changed a thing. Just started doing this.

It sounds like the issue is unrelated to the SketchUcation Tools since you also have issues connecting to the 3Dwarehouse.

If you are on SU 2021 Pro I would recommend utilizing their support system to troubleshoot why you are experiencing issues.
