Hi,chillotti. I guess you didn't use autoinstall from sketchupucation store tool. You must unzip the rbz file when you manually install it. Change the extenstion name "rbz" to "zip".and unzip it. "fur_en.rb" and "fur_en" folder will be shown. Copy both to plugin folder. And New Icon file "fur_en.rar" must unzip ,also. Copy the created png file to "fur_en" folder in plugins folder. Thanks.

This was working previously for me but there are certain components that dont seem to want to constrain the surface I select. The preview shows everything in the right place but then they appear randomly spread out in mid air over a huge area when I do it. Its only certain components with the same settings so I don't get it. Has anybody had this issue before?

Hi, wondering if someone could please help me.
I've been using make fur fine for the last while, but it has suddenly stopped working completely.
I know how to use it, but now when I push the Make Fur button, nothing happens. No collecting faces, nothing. I'm at a loss. Has anyone ever experienced something like this?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Have you recently installed any new plugins that might be messing with this one? Maybe the Vray plugin or Sketchy Physics?

Nope, no new plugins as of late. Was working earlier this week, now won't work whatsoever, no new plugins installed since. Have tried everything I feel. Played with all the options, components, new sketchup files, restarting computer, blah. Any other suggestions?

If you try using it with the Ruby Console open are there any error messages ? Have you recently changed things that might have affected your Plugins folder's security permissions? Select its icon, right-click > context-menu > Properties > Security > Edit... make sure every user/group listed has FULL read/write permissions ticked. Apply/OK Also select the SketchUp.exe icon and similarly: right-click > context-menu > Properties > Compatibility > Check the box 'Always run as administrator' > Apply/OK... Restart SketchUp... If it still fails to work... In the ../Plugins/fur_en folder there's a file called fur_param3.ini, edit it with Notepad and delete all of the entries, then save it: now 'fur' should start on a SketchUp restart with its default settings...

Hi,ikeda and mjursevs. Please do as TIG says.
Please tell me the detail of your problems,When still there were the problem. Open "Ruby Console" in sketchup "windows" menu. And Start "Fur". when there is any message includes "error", Please copy the all message and post here.
I have no materials of the inference for your problems. Thanks.

This is just brilliant.. Don't know how i missed this for so long. Now that vray2.0 is proxy enables the possibilities are limitless.. Convert a grass component into a proxy on sk (Though 3dsmax allows the porxy to be simplified further), import it into the model and scatter the proxy. You have a feather weight model with the punch of a heavy weight! Awesome work tak2hata! this was my first attempt at grass..

Is there a good userguide somewhere? I downloaded the plugin and cannot figure it out. Managed to get some grass on a surface but it disappeared as soon as I moved the image. Tried the crowd function but nothing...
Tried youtube but it hung (got an old PC and lousy internet). Userguide will be fantastic.

Because the front face of the rectangle you've draw is facing down. Before running the plugin, correct the face orientation so the front face is up.

Yes, if you draw a rectangle on the groundplane, it's front face will be oriented down. Since SketchUp is a 3D modeling application, it is assumed that you will make that face into a 3D shape and then the back face will be inside.
All you have to do is right click on the face and choose Reverse Faces.

What do you mean it's not working. Be specific.
The file is available to download at the end of the first post in this thread or you could autoinstall it via the Sketchucation Plugin Store.

That's like saying to the doctor, "It hurts." and expecting the doctor to figure out from that what's wrong with you. Do we have to guess which sliders work? It would be a big help if you were much more specific. Post the SKP file and give us some information that we can use to help you. What sliders don't move? What are you trying to achieve?

Just a quick question. Is it possible somehow to adjust setting to a created crowd, or does one have to start over? Thanks

Hello. If anyone can answer any of the following questions I'd be extremely happy... (thanks in advance)....
1- On the first page, in the "Attachments" box where you click to download the plugin, it says "fur_en1.5a--This is Older Version.".... Is there an newer version somewhere? Or is this the most current version?
2- I see that in later posts, people seem to have a dialog/menu box that is green... is this only a Windows feature? All I get is a slightly different version of the original (whatever version was first released)... I'm on a Mac, and sometimes not everything appears the same on both systems.
3- Also on the first page, where the versions/fixes are listed, I see "Crowd" Problem on mac do not fix yet. ".... I'm not sure, but does that mean that the crowd feature does not work on a Mac?
4- I feel really stupid asking this one, because it is clear that other people are able to do this, but how exactly does one go about using/loading components? I've tried several ways, based on what I think other people are doing (though nobody who seems to be using components seem to be directly saying how they did it... or I'm completely missing that)... I don't actually seem to be able use the Sang or Leaf1 components either... I watched the video and read every page of this thread and unless I skipped something obvious , I just don't see that info...
Sorry, for asking what are probably really stupid questions, but I've been going at this for about 3 hours and I decided to just ask the questions instead of poking at it anymore.
By the way, I can make grass(fur)... I'm just not able to use/load leaf1 and Sang components/load my own components... I was hoping to be able to use this plugin to populate a small area of terrain with some simple weed billboards/components I was making and I remembered that this plugin seemed to be able to do that... But I'm not sure if I'm understanding fully if that is what it does...
Anyway, thank you in advance for any information you may be able to share on this subject!
