Recent Works Gallery :::::hey everyone, havnt posted in a while, but ive been really happy with some of my stuff lately wanted to share (its also better to share renders with people who understand what goes into rendering rather than sometimes unappreciative clients). All built in Sketchup and all (but one) rendered in max/vray.
This is my freshest one, and probably my favourite (probably due to its freshness) i can still see things i could add to it but i dont see myself coming back to it. Raw render: these next few are from a set of 6 of which im posting 3 (cos the others were crap) also lots that could still be added especially the aerial which could have more lights and people coming in from the sides. this one was very complicated as i was working with engineers and they wanted to use the model for structural assessment and what not, so lots and back and forth, also i must add this was a tag team with 3d max in building that canopy first general form in max then grid spacing and placement in sketchup the back to max for shelling, however the rest was built in sketchup so it still qualifies to be posted here. >>> RAW RENDER: This one is from a set of 3 which i spent 2 sleepless days on and the client said nothing about (referring to the unappreciative clients statement above). scroll right >>> RAW RENDER for comparison Added Aerial View: this one is kind of old and a bit out of place but i saw it on my flash card while looking for images to post so i thought i'd post it anyway sticking to the out of placeness theme ok now starting a rustic bushlodge theme, gem from set of crap: RAW RENDER: very old one but i never showed anyone, im sentimental about it so... and lastly a very cool project that finished just before the top image (from a set of 4) adios i'll post more stuff if i find something i forgot Found another one: Last edited by free agent on Tue Jun 29, 2010 7:28 pm, edited 6 times in total.
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Bravo! That's very good!
![]() Very convincing! ![]()
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Excellent stuff as always mate, glad to see you posting again stranger.
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::![]() You have single handedly restored my faith in the Gallery! I am going to revisit this post each of the next couple of days so that each image get's the eye time it deserves. Bytor Find the Cost of Freedom.....
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::That rustic bush lodge with the African sky is bloody phenomenal, looks like a well taken photo.
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Every time I turn around the bar keeps getting set higher. Really impressive work!!!

Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Free Agent, thanks for sharing your work. Those images are impresive.
Is sad that the clients don't apreciate your efforts. I don't usually like crowded renders, but the people in yours look nicely blended and not out of place. "Aquel que sacrifica un poco de libertad por seguridad, no se merece ninguna y terminará perdiendo ambas"
-Benjamín Franklin. Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::hey all thanx for the comments, i know adam likes to see the raw renders (i do to) and the most dramatic photoshopping happened with the long Dubai harbour shot, enjoyed the process, i posted the Raw render below it.
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Awesome work as always, Free Agent. I'd go as far as to say that this is probably the best topic I've seen in this gallery to date. I'm quite surprised at how much PS work you end up putting into your work.
The only crit I have is that the on first shot of under the organic canopy, the shadow's look like they have gone wrong and the darker paving material looks oddly jointed: I'm guessing but it look as though this happened when you were editing slabs in PS. and the shadow's moved? Might have been easier to render out the shadows as a separate channel and just overlay at the end. Top work though. PS Are you not using VfSU any longer? Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::hi DzineTech, thank you for the comment, those are actually 5 stairs going down slightly to a sunken undercover canopy area, so the shadows of the canopy are hitting different levels of stairs becoming disjointed.
no more VRfSU, the camera control alone in max far outweighs the ease of having Vray inside Sketchup. Safe frame and Vertical correction namely but there are obviosly many others. Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Those are amazing !
![]() ![]() You just proved that we need another gallery (sort of a 'best of'-gallery where only the best works can be shown => I almost missed yours.) It 's that sort of works that keeps my spirits high and makes me want to try even harder ... Keep posting ! (Even your 'crap' will probably be better than everything I will come up with ![]() Thanks for sharing ... Flapsy Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Ah I see what you mean. I stand corrected!
I know what you mean re Max and Vray. It's a far superior combination especially guess shift plus the additional Vray features missing in VFSU like Vrayoverridemtl. The shell structure must've been a pain to get right but you've done a cracking job as it all looks excellent. Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Thank again all, found another old (strange) project i was quite pleased with: UPDATED FIRST POST
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::I don't even know what to say to be honest.
Breath taking images in a different league. How much would you say is SU modelled and how much is Max? Im guessing a lot of the vegetation is done in max. Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::![]() Thanks for sharing bru ! This really makes me wanna work harder ! Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::fREE Agent
Super renders and thanks. ![]() ![]() Question? What is the people source? Really work well in context. Back to the drawing board ( if any still are around ) Cheers dtr
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::thanks all for the kind words
the vegetation is usually always photoshopped in, quite a few people libraries, Got3d, Epictor, E3DST, Dosch and my most commonly used people are from www.vyonyx.com (free) Dylan: Very little of these was modeled in max, i only model in max if i need to make chairs, cushions or more organic structures. Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Thank you Thank you Thank you
For posting again. Thought we may have lost you to the MAX crowd. Yet again your images inspire me to sleep no more and practice practice practice. Blown away again. Hope your getting enough time to enjoy the WC. Exaggeration makes a dull story better.
Re: Recent Works Gallery :::::Free Agent again.
Thx for the people info. Very critical to lock in a PR render. One little thing please. ![]() (the file of the running bug) I promised not to use it here but what fun and just drives me C ![]() ![]() A collectors item. ![]() Cheers dtr
