I can't wait for my 13 yr old son to come home so I can show him your two modeling threads. He got into SU for a few weeks, but got bored and put it down. I think your work will definitely inspire him to pick it back up! Thanks for sharing!!!

numbthumb: No, the sci-fi models are personal projects. I am actually working on a sci-fi game in conjunction with SyFy channel. Hopefully I can show some of them in the future. Right now I am under NDA. Adam: Thank you. I hope your son will get inspired by my work and get back to sketchup. Have a nice one, _KN

Dolf: Thank you. Will keep on posting. Boofredlay: LOL...thank you. Roberto/artysmedia: Most of my texturing is postwork in Photoshop. However, I do put textures and materials directly into the models when possible or when Photoshop cannot do its magic with for example bricks or other tileable materials. Well, it can, but it will take longer and it is more difficult to keep the right perspective/proportions, while in sketchup you just use the pain bucket, fast and easy. Scottpara: Thanks, Scott. I love doing details in my sketchup models. Ok, here another sci-fi weapon. I will add more stuff later. Thanks for viewing. _KN

Hi everyone, Sorry, I have been quiet the past few months. I have been quite busy with work as well as babysitting my little princess. Unfortunately, I still cannot show any of my current projects from work. But here's a personal project I did. This was my submission for the NVArt Challenge. I did not win anything, but it was really fun and a great learning experience to improve my modeling skills. My original plan was to build these models and some architectural futuristic buildings/environment with people in there. Do some renders and paint over in the style of Syd Mead. But time wasn’t on my side. I started about 10 days before the deadline and worked a few hours at night (whenever I did not have to soothe my little princess back to sleep). I only had time to finish the models. Modeled in Sketchup and rendered with Vray / HDRI. Thanks for viewing and have a terrific day! _KN p.s. I also work on some fantasy architecture as personal project. Make sure to check out The Art of sketchup - part 1: Fantasy soon.
