A bastardised version of the forth rail bridge. All that damn lattice work really eats in to your time!

Does it have to be real bridges?
Also if it is conceptural will I lose if it is slightly unbuildable?

Nice bridge remus. Well done.

Tobobo, I think it can be any kind of bridge you wish; real, planned, fantasy or even a bridge to your soul.

Ok ok ok.

I was just checking, engineers can be funny at times. I didn't want my awesome winning idea to be disqualified because it couldn't be built.

Here is my first attempt.

A bridge too far0001.jpg

A bridge too far0002.jpg

A bridge too far0003.jpg

Most of the modeling time was taken by processing the twist and the bend (and it crashed twice!) Stupid PC!! I want a mac!

Toby. . you got Gallopin' Gertie Going on there!
So what crashed 3 times? Your Computer or your bridge??

Maybe you should animate yours in SU Physics!

Love the toothpicks too. :thumb: :thumb:

Darn! I just realized that on mine, I got my Hot Wheels Track the wrong color. . .oh well.

Yeah SU crashed during the twist function once and the twice during the bending

Eeva,

I saw a documentry on a team trying to build one in china a couple of years ago only using period tools. The bridge worked but they cheated a little.

I think I saw that same Documentary. In fact I wanted to do an entry based on that but I couldn't remember any of the details about the film.

Just a quicky based on a doodle that I did a while (long while) back! I ddin't have time to texture or flesh it out as I would've liked, but you get the idea.

I am surprised there are not more entries for this one as it is a great subject. Maybe we could find a way to gain more exposure for the competition? That or people just don't care...

Anyway, here is mine. I got the idea from an image I found, it is not my design. However I did model it in... well I went over by 30 seconds or so when coloring it up. DQ me if you wish but here it is anyway.

Darn, unless I can bang one out at work today (not likely) I will miss this one.

David, that is a great sketch and a nice bit of quick modeling to match. Did you make that man and the horse within time limit too?

Nice one Boo.
