Another special addition this week, as you have one hour to model and texture than unlimited time to render. I look forward to seeing all your shiny renders ![]() Deadline is 6 PM BST, 2nd June. Re: Speed modelling Challenge #12 Mobile PhoneIs then texture tweaking (i.e. which can be "real texturing" too) allowed "outside" of this one hour, in the rendering app?
Re: Speed modelling Challenge #12 Mobile Phone... If pre-made textures are useable, than textures made for the comp. shouldn't have the time limit added to them, as there's no solid definition defining what would be acceptable and what wouldn't. With the current rules, I don't see why making a texture to map to an object could even be against the rules. But mapping it would be considered 'modeling time'.
... Unless the rules ended up changing ![]() ...or if you mean tweaking the image post-production, I don't think it's allowed, but who knows.
Re: Speed modelling Challenge #12 Mobile PhoneI always enjoy the competition, win lose or draw...sorry, I mean lose, lose or lose but you are friggin with the rules too often. Unlimited time on anything just takes a lot of the fun out of it. Although I love rendering as much as anyone it limits the participants. We don't seem to be able to muster much more than 30 votes either.
I guess I am suggesting in the future keep the rules simple, don't allow unlimited time, and find a way to make the entries more visible. This should encourage more entries and a larger audience. If you must keep the voting buried in the sub-forum of a sub-forum of a forum then the 30 + votes are coming from the partisipants. Very few are aware that they can vote.
Re: Speed modelling Challenge #12 Mobile PhoneFair criticisms bruce. I think a return to the old ways is in order for the next round.
To clarify the textures thing: any textures must be made within the hour. Re: Speed modelling Challenge #12 Mobile PhoneMaybe "Competition" could be a category on the main Index Board?? More visible. Just a thought....
Have I mentioned how much of a laugh I get out of some of the Signatures on here!
Re: Speed modelling Challenge #12 Mobile PhoneMy first mobile...the advantages over todays cell phones are too long to list including very inexpensive replacement from parts in your Mom's kitchen.
