Theres a new rule this round as well, just to clear up the issue regarding texturing. The whole lot s quoted as a quick reminder.

-60 mins max modelling time
-unlimited prep time (thinking, sketching, looking for pics etc. NO MODELLING!)
-I will ask people to judge the models on time taken to model, quality of the model and originality of the idea.
-Multiple entries are allowed, keep it sensible though.
-Please provide a wire frame shot of your model when you post.
-Sketchup output only (and as much as i know you love rendering your models, it would be appreciated if you could hold of posting them in the gallery until after the comp.)
-Any texturing should be done within the modelling time.

Competition ends 11th may at 6pm BST (GMT+1).

I don't like subjects that encourage subsmooth, because I don't have that truly fantastic extension by Whaat
Still a cool subject though. I might be able to make a less-smooth model.
... And maybe someday, I could make a plugin of my own. I've already got 2 ideas, and at least one seems very possible.

I bought SSD and Profile Builder and have barely even used them, BUT,when I need them I'll have them. You can't beat the price for "whaat" they can do!

But I think there will be another way.

You can achieve the floppy look with Freescale and the new bend tools.

I was being facetious (in the Speed Challenge #10 Thread) when I mentioned SubSmooth. one can funky and surreal without them. There are all kinds of things one can do!

For instance. . .with joint Push Pull you can make draweres come out of the Venus de Milo!

Break the ice. Not sure what it is. Started out trying to model a rock shape. Couple of watermarks and a backdrop. No rubies.

No rubies, but very foggy.

Ran out of time so I didn't finish the texturing, had no end of trouble cleaning up "round edges by bezier" errors. Oh well; excuses, excuses. Supposed to be a burned out fuse with the Earth inside the meter box.
