Rogue's W.I.P's!

Gotta agree with you about the SU addiction. Happened to me before (still does). Once I'm onto something, I'll go on forever until it's done. That's why I don't want to start making cars until summer.

I thought I'd stimulate the "interwebz" by this picture of the Artega. I've been working on rendering again and the result just keeps getting better and better!

That is an astonishing looking paint job and that wing just tops it off.
The render looks very crisp; you must be spending a lot of time and effort perfecting the textures and a have quite high performance computer to get results like that.
My renders always turn out really speckled with fireflies even after 10 hours with fryrender. I need a much better computer. I know my model is bottom of its line so I can’t expect that much.

Once again, model is looking great, I can’t wait to see it finished.

Haha. Not quite... Here's the shocker:

I use Vista with a 512MB card.

The Artega is done; just a few flaws left. I'll upload it this weekend.

Oh and I'm thinking of doing some render work for a few weeks. I'm going to start with the Maverick GT. Should I post them here or send it to you by email?

That’s not a lot but you might have a good processor. I have Vista on a 2GB ram module but because I only have a 1.86GHz processor it can’t live up to what the RAM can handle.

My sister has a 256mb laptop but it has a 2.4GHz processor...It’s ridiculous. It’s about 6 years old and its processor is as good as it gets. It can run fryrender fine because it doesn’t take a lot of ram and because it has a really good processor it can get results fast. It can do in about 2 hours what my computer would take 10. Why computers dont come with better processors is beyond me.

Feel free to post them here but no one would be able to download them because of the file protection. If you want you can send me a copy so I can add them to my website.

Best of luck

Slow day is it.......?

Here is a pack of car interior textures, created by me, that should be useful.

To use:
-Drag JPG image into SketchUp model
-Explode to turn into texture
-Double click texture "in model" to change dimensions

ZIP contains:
-Falcon texture:
Is available in the new Ford Falcon. It is the basic seat fabric
-Falcon texture black:
Is available in the new Ford Falcon. It is the basic trim
-Falcon texture blue:
Is available in the new Ford Falcon. It is the coloured trim
(To edit colour go "in model", select material and click "Create Material..." This will then display a material editing panel)
-Leather
Basic leather material
-Leather 2
Trim leather, for such places as steering wheel and door trim.
Interior Textures.zip

Ford Falcon eBrochuer.pdf is also included for examples of the materials

Basic Aluminium texture for trim
-Metal Weave
Mesh / Weave for trim

I'm just starting to explore this section of SU so don't be harsh, tell me what you think.

HyperShot is an amazing software. I got it a few days ago but I'm having trouble with saving the images. Must be my pc since it didn't meet some (*cough* most *cough*) of the requirements. But I did get it to work once...

Here is another model encase you haven’t seen it already
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0
It’s a performance version of my G-R V8
I hope to see some mods (hint, hint)

I am going to have a break from SU for a little while. I haven’t been getting much done on y models and I need to clear my head if I want to get things in perspective.
I am getting a new Force Feedback racing wheel so I’ll occupy myself with GT4 for a while...

You'll need the break :). If you stay away from SU for a while, your progress will be better when you come back. Don't know why, but it just works. :?

If I get back to modelling, I'll work on the G-R V8 R. I guess it'll either be a coupe or ute. I already did a tuned sedan and I try not to recycle ideas. But for now, I'll stick to uploading my finished models.

An awkward situation. I've found out that someone gave my GT-B a 1 star. I thought: Oh, ok. Another troll. But then I came across the "troll's" models and found out that he/she makes decent stuff. Hmm... That same person down-rated my two other models. Weird.

I can’t wait to what you do with the model

I have noticed that person too, it’s that ((( İLKE® ))) person. Apparently the F__k tard is friends with some other person who doesn't like you for some reason.
I don't care for it; he/she he-she is just another weird retard in the warehouse. There seems to be a lot of them and I can't see why.

I use fryrender to make my renders but I just model a ground in the same model as my car in SketchUp. Just make sure its all level with the axis an is set to recieve shadows etc

Oh, one more thing....

I haven’t been very active in SU lately and won’t be for a little while longer, as I stated before.
I am just planning on finishing and uploading my current projects and maybe some others and that’s it for me. I don’t know how long I will be gone from SU and whether I will be back at all but I won't be far.

SketchUp doesn’t seem to be what I want to be doing at the moment, I feel I should be concentrating on other things instead, career maybe.

This isn't my final farewell. It’s more of a, "I'll be saying, “see ya later, soon".

Well, good luck with that. I'm thinking of dropping out temporarily next year. That's because I'll be taking IGCSE exams a year from now. And I don't think I should risk that opportunity.

So there we go, the Warehouse will end up being a Fortress of Suck...
