Enscape for SketchupHi guys,
Enscape released their alpha version for Sketchup. Check it out here It works with SU2017 only.... I for one cant seem to make it work though. A brief overview of the app by the folks at Show it Better.... Re: Enscape for SketchupInstalling the .rbz crashes SU everytime.
Re: Enscape for Sketchup
Same for me! ![]()
Re: Enscape for SketchupI installed it fine. But for me the problem is when i start the application from sketchup itself... it gives me the bugsplat! Well.. still alpha so i believe they might fox these issues soon enough!
This looks like a serious and affordable contender to the likes of the overpriced lumion etc... Re: Enscape for SketchupHi guys! As you said, since it is the alpha version they are still quite a few bugs. I have been talking to the guys at Enscape and they are trying their best to fix this for the official release, so it really helps that you post these issues.
On the other hand, I had the some problem when installing it, what worked for me was closing sketchup and opening again but choosing a different graphics card. I had the default built in one for SkP and when I chose the other one Enscape was good. Tell me if this works for you guys, and thanks for sharing the video ![]() Re: Enscape for SketchupLike I said on FB, I have a Titan card and still it crashed, twice. I'm very interested in this as it fills a gap between Lumion and LumenRT (LumenRT has seemed to go into hibernation after Bentley acquired 'em)
Re: Enscape for Sketchup
But where? Is there an official forum for the sketchup version? Re: Enscape for Sketchup
I am sorry to hear that it didn´t work Peter, I will let the guys at Enscape know about this, you are not the first one. We have programed releasing videos with each new feature and a how to install video next week. I am going to check into it if there are any other possible ways around this issue, and I will be letting you know. It really is an awesome tool. I will be updating you Re: Enscape for Sketchup
There is not an official forum (not that I know of). But I am sure that me and the guys at Enscape are constantly checking the feedback on the video I released and hopefully to Adam´s winning with sketchup review. For now if you post it here or on the videos I will see it and pass it on to the team at enscape. Re: Enscape for SketchupI've been doing a bit of testing and am really impressed thus far. Is it completely revolutionary? No. But, the integration into Sketchup and ease of use will really pull in some of the market. The VR support and panoramas are also a plus. It's upside being it's Sketchup integration, is also it's downside as it's very limited to what Sketchup can support. I don't honestly think Enscape will succeed unless it can figure out proxy support. If they can make it work with Skatter and allow for high poly proxy rendering via proxy, they will win over a lot of users. Visually, the GI and AA is amazing. I think up there with the best of them.
Bugs that I've found are with hidden geometry and layers not turning off in Enscape. Quad based texture mapping is not transferring. Also faceme components aren't moving in realtime. Here are a bunch of my recent test renders to showcase a little of what it can do. These are literally just opening my old scenes and exporting out screenshots. I've done nothing else. I'd like to set up a scene full with plants and see how it does. I did test it on a scene with 3.5 million polys and it did fine. It just took a while to actually start up, but then everything moved around flawlessly. Overall, I would describe Enscape renders as simply "clean". Good color, good crisp lines I also did a review here that goes through the UI and how to produce and animation, etc. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN1HIwzPv2M 3D Artist at Clearstory 3D Imaging

Re: Enscape for SketchupDo you know if a free version (limited of course) will be existing ?
Re: Enscape for Sketchup@EarthMover - Thank you for a very informative video about Enscape. The part about Wrap-R was also very informative but I currently do not use SubD but I did learn a lot from your video on both topics.
![]() I wish the trial was for longer than 14 days (especially since it is still in Alpha) but I will give it a try. Re: Enscape for Sketchup
I agree.
Re: Enscape for SketchupI am expecting them to come out with new alpha versions each of 14 day trial periods till they reach release version!
Enscape need to make their presence felt here at sketchucation (afterall this is a fairly large community).. somebody invite them over here already!!! Re: Enscape for SketchupWell, I just had to give it a try
![]() Here is an image and a movie I created with VERY LITTLE effort: and here is the movie: You can only imagine what this tool could look like when it moves on the next stages.
I could go on with more "wish list" items but IMHO this is amazing for an alpha. In particular, the ease of use and the general quality of the output is amazing. As @EarthMover said in his video, if you had additional stuff available like in some of the competitive products, it would (and maybe already is) a no-brainer. Finally was able to make it work.... jusat had to update the display drivers!!!! ![]() ![]() Re: Enscape for Sketchup
I updated my drivers on Thursday to the newest ones and still it crashes.
Re: Enscape for SketchupHope you guys get it working. I think you are going to like it. Building renders and movies go really fast.
Re: Enscape for Sketchup
I updated my windows OS along side.... dont know if that helped my case though!! Hope u get it installed pete! I am sure u will enjoy using it as much as i do! Hope to put out some renders and a video and try and win that competition!!! ![]() Re: Enscape for Sketchup
I am not on Facebook or Instagram so I cannot enter but I do not think my stuff is good enough to win anyway. ![]() I can still have fun with the soft way anyway ![]() Re: Enscape for SketchupUpdating to OS actually worked, well maybe not update but revert to the last 'public' version. If you know what I mean.
Re: Enscape for SketchupPretty cool, lacks a ton of features but not bad as a quick tool.
Re: Enscape for SketchupI need to learn hoe do landscaping around my models.
I thought the rendering was the fastest of any tool I have tried/used. Creating the movie was really fast too. Yes, a long way to go but it sure looks to me like it has a lot of potential given that this is only an alpha version. Re: Enscape for SketchupWow this.... impressive software! Very limited as in Alpha now, but looks very very promising.
Just playing around with two high poly model: https://www.facebook.com/digitalifeless ... 5901034718 Re: Enscape for SketchupCan't get it to work either. Loaded and updated through extension manager. When I try to run it I get the egg timer of death, and then crash on mouse click
Re: Enscape for SketchupI tried making a video using this... pretty straight forward... hope they put in more tools and controls!!

Re: Enscape for SketchupThis is awesome, half way to Lumion and few steps in front of Lumion when it comes what is it offering. What i do not like is subscription based licence. Far best type of subscription for me have Allegorithmic with Substance live Rent-to-own type of licence. Maybe this 45$/month could be like that?
Re: Enscape for Sketchup@jenujacob & Pete, thanks for posting your videos. I like them and think they show some potential with Enscape. I saw another video (could not find it for this post but if I find it I will post it) that showed some additional things related to animation, moving characters and etc. If they bring that to the SU world that would be great.
If you go to their site and look at some of their tutorial videos they show some pretty neat stuff. In particular there was one showing them editing some materials that was pretty neat but that might really be just the way you can edit materials in Revit. If it is, they need to bring some of that to the SU world. I also saw am Enscape video that included sound (I think it was one of the tutorials). There is also a link in their gallery where you can download one of the stand-alone Enscape models. That could be an interesting way for you to share your work with a client. My biggest impression was the ability to view my model in both SU and Enscape simultaneously and how that connection made changes in SU show up in real-time in the Enscape window. I was also impressed with the speed of rendering and video creation.
