Having to sign in each visit is a pitty

Having to sign in each visit is a pitty

Postby baz » Mon Nov 18, 2013 3:42 pm

Last coupla months, I find I have to sign in on every visit. I keep ticking 'remember me' but it doesn't stick. I also get the popup login over the top of the normal login that I'm used to. This even when responding to email notifs.

I open and close my browser a dozen times a day, it's a pita.

Is your browser set to erase cookies on closing or opening? If yes, this is the reason why the system can not identify you as a logged in user when you re-open your browser.

As Gábor says - your browser should have the ability to set cookies from certain sites so they do not get deleted when it closes... Also if you run apps like CCleaner make sure that all of the cookies you want to keep are 'whitelisted'...

Thanks Gabor, Tig.
That was it, I had 'accept cookies' ticked in Firefox but had the wrong option - 'keep until I close Firefox' - instead of 'until they expire'.
Cheers,
