Re: Useful win appsI gotta keep harping on this - EasyThumbnails at http://www.fookes.com
Batch rename, batch name pre or suffix, resize, shrink photos etc. Free and fast. Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet.
- Jack Handey Re: Useful win appsWell, it needs to be installed as a PDF printer doesn't it? There are some other components avaiable that are part of the 995 suite and that are standalone and some integrate. Save the Earth, it's the only planet with chocolate.
Re: Useful win appsRemus - I added Objectdock and like it quite a bit. Thank you!
I suggest strongly using iGoogle for your home page too - add all your daily websurf links, weather, news, rss feeds etc... Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet.
- Jack Handey Re: Useful win appsGlad you like object dock shaun
![]() Virtual clonedrive A really simple iso mounting tool. Just install and your off. Also gives you the option to mount CD/DVD images through a right click. Re: Useful win appsXplorer2
http://zabkat.com/index.htm Replaces your native windows explorer with dual pane action goodness. ![]() Its got a free version. I refuse to work without this app. Re: Useful win appsI know of a DirectX exporter for SU, but not an importer. IIRC you'll have to use some other conversion app and import that.

Re: Useful win appsGoogle Reader
Not an application as such, but a really useful (and free) webpage for collecting your RSS feeds together. The usual easy to use google type layout. Re: Useful win appsSyncToy
A microsoft application that works (so far.) Basically its a syncing application, you select the 2 folders you want to sync, press go and they sync. Very useful for backups and synchronising laptops etc. Also has lots of useful options and very few superfolous options, im pretty impressed with it so far. Re: Useful win appsQ-dir is my pick of the year.
Standalone(yes, it's portable), free, small (<500kb), fast. A true alternative to the win-explorer it has 4 explorer windows including quicklinks and favorites for dispositions. Give it a try! It's free and no need to install it. A true usb-stick friend ![]() HP: http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Freewa ... ge=english DL: http://www.softwareok.com/Download/Q-Dir_Installer.zip <-don't worry, this is not a "true" installer Last edited by marne on Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:29 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Useful win appsOhhhhhhh, it all makes sense now
![]() Well i have tried it now, and it is pretty good. A bit rough around the edges, but very good none the less. Re: Useful win appsJust a word of warning, ubiquity seems to stop flash form working (youtube etc.)
Re: Useful win appsMakehuman
A rather handy modelling program, in which you can easily produce human model meshes that can be imported in to SU (with the help of the OBJ importer.) I havent kept track of it, but after reading through their blog quickly it looks as if the development team is pretty active. Always a bonus. Re: Useful win appsSizer.
A tiny program that allows you to resize windows to exact sizes. I find it helpful when making screen captures to resize the application before recording. http://www.brianapps.net/ Hi
Re: Useful win appsI like a few of you guys use:

Re: Useful win appsOh good, I'm glad you found a link to this (via Mike's link). This is a software/webite that Jody Gates of Google told me that he uses to do all his SketchUp tutorials anymore. I have been trying to remeber what it was called and kept coming up blank. Its made by the camtasia folks, so its good quality. Thanks for repeating the link here. I've been looking for this,
Chris
Re: Useful win apps
so is there a way of opening these files in sketchup? as all i can seem to do is export the sketchup to .x and not the otherway round. getting a little confused! he he cheers pav Just won the 'Who is Least Competitive Championships' where trying to win will make you lose. Trying to lose makes you win which makes you lose. Not trying at all makes you lose which makes you win which makes you lose.
Re: Useful win appsGoogle Chrome
Well enough people have used it and said they like it for me to be able to recommend it here. Its party piece is running each tab as a separate process. Essentially this means that if one tab messes up its jsut that tab that goes down, rather than the whole browser. It also has a super fast javascript engine (called V8) that is very good for running things like gmail, google apps etc. (no surprises there.) Overall its also a very fast browser that is certainly worth a try (even if you really really really like FF/opera.) Re: Useful win appsthanks Jim
i downloaded Sizer. looks good. (so I, ME, Myself,is sinning, same as Remus, for i have not yet proved its use and recommended it. shit sigh sigh sigh __-- _,_)))_,_
Re: Useful win appsConvert is a free and easy to use unit conversion program that will convert the most popular units of distance, temperature, volume, time, speed, mass, power, density, pressure, energy and many others, including the ability to create custom conversions!
Use this all the time. Spence
