As I said in the probab issue thread, there seems to be an instability issue with this release.
When I try to change distribution or to preview, SU bugsplats way more often than 1.0.0.

It's very difficult to work with big files as a bugsplat = reloading = long loading times wasted if skatter bugsplats.

At first I thought it was the skp file that was too heavy (260Mb) but I tried on small simple files and ditto.

Can you replicate the crashes?

I can replicate the crashes on my two computers.
But there's more: the preview /regenerate skatter doesn't work after tweaking the params.
I have to go back to the skatter list and re-edit the skatter to finally preview the last tweakings I made. So the live preview doesn't work either. Strange.

No. With live preview, the previewing is immediate but tend to slowdown too much my workflow to be efficient on big meshes. Not to mention brushwork.

Anything in the ruby console while you work with Skatter?

Ruby console shows exactly the same commands, live preview toggled on or off, but the preview is actually only effective when live preview is switched on. Weird?
If I go to skatter list and reedit the skatter, the preview shows the last made changes correctly.
So inside the skatter the changes have been correctly saved but the preview/regenerate buttons don't work when not live previewing. which forces me to always work with live preview now. sometimes it's cool, other times it's too slow and I have to switch the live preview off.

It's really weird, I can't replicate any of these issues.

Also, try renaming the folder "C:\Users\Thomas\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\SketchUp\Plugins" to disable all other plugins temporarily (Skatter is installed elsewhere) and see if it works.

I got the same report from another user.
He was using the demo and the issue vanished when he bought and activated a license.
