Re: [BUG] skatter increases memory footprint endlesslyI'm getting this problem now, I was playing with a scene, added a bunch of trees, did a render plus channels, saved the project, closed SU2015.. did manly duties ie feed the tribe then loaded the scene and its 20mins later and still loading cpu is at 15% memory for SU is creeping up but still under 2gb of 8gb.. its showing 50% free
the scene itself is only 24meg and I just used boxes, Thea took around 15secs to build when I did the earlier render and wasn't stretched at all.. still busy “It’s only impossible if you stop and think about it!”
Re: [BUG] skatter increases memory footprint endlesslyWhen I get this issue, I kill SU manually, relaunch it , in prefs unable skatter, relaunch SU, open the file, and then re-enable skatter, regenerate the skatters.
Re: [BUG] skatter increases memory footprint endlesslyI have a bug in 1.0.3 that make Skatter 10 times slower in some cases, maybe that's what you're seeing.
A new build will be released in the next few days.
Re: [BUG] skatter increases memory footprint endlesslyThanks optimaforever, I just went back to the backup version without the Skatter, I wasn't really finished with the scene, I was just showing someone how to do a position channel pass and depth for post pro mist/fog.. but if I have it happen again I'll do as you say
![]() The tree's were Skatter content I made, I think the mod.thea is around 15meg, the simple skp is basically the same as sKatter ones from the library, the skp tree is a scary 120 meg but I didn't use that, I only made it trying different ways to get a XFrog tree into SU If I do it again I'll take a note of the amount of instances Thea has so you get some idea how much was in the scene, but I plan to place the trees better so its a bit more economical so I can do the grass with out killing the project “It’s only impossible if you stop and think about it!”

After a restart of sketchup the memory usage was set back to ~250 MB and then i started a new skatter preview and it began counting up again (~7,5 GB after 3 hours) Re: [BUG] skatter increases memory footprint endlessly

Re: [BUG] skatter increases memory footprint endlesslyYes. In increments of maybe 40-80 KB every second. It also happens when i only use "Edit skatter group" on an old skatter object. Nothing more to do, only open the scatter dialog.

I know, but it doesn't fix the problem. Off Topic @Rich IMHO the new emoticon set is way worse than the old set. We plan upgrading forums this year so no real point fixing them until the whole thing gets an overhaul. There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
