Hello Thomas,

I don't know if my understanding of the thing is correct or not, but it seems that the last selected skatter object seems to appear more often than the others, even if I put the probab to 1% (leaving the others to 100%).
The 1% guy doesn't appear as often as the 100% guys but it does appear more than 1%, that's for sure (I'd say something like 50%).
Is there a way to avoid that?

Yeah, I need to improve the probability algorithm, it's far from perfect.

and is there a quick fix?
like: add a last skattered mesh as decoy and then delete it? :lol:
or even better: add an empty or invisible mesh as last element so it will be skattered often but invisible even if it will contribute in the percentage?
I did a 2D people cutout skatter this night and the bug is very visible (the last guy I picked is skattered very often and it's obvious)...

Edit: yes, it's trivial but it works: just delete the last element of the skatter and now skattering is even (or at least predictable)...

Re-edit: no, it doesn't work. :roll: I thought it worked because the new last element isn't as obvious as the previous one.

OK.
I tried to find a workaround.
Clearly there is a bug here.
The red poppy ( which has been selected as last skatter element ) has 1% probability of appearing. Yet as you can see, it appears on more than 60% of the scene.

Now where it becomes interesting is here:

I selected a hollow component (actually just a vertical line converted to component and named "void skatter" after the red poppy. the prob of it 100% and the red poppy is still 1% (unchanged).

Thus the void skatter element has inherited of the probability error issue, but is invisible so doesn't matter (but the density of the uniform pattern has to be tweaked to avoid holes in the skatter).

By the way, I've noticed that the infamous last selected skatter objects doesn't obey the skattering pattern assigned to the skatter. I used a grid 300x300cm for trees but the culprit is everywhere although all the other trees respect the grid.

EDIT: I also noticed that the culprit doesn't respect random transformation (no scale no rotate no translate)

Here the poppies are 100% prob like the other grass.

OOps.

The last version 1.0.2 seems to bugsplat a lot when trying to preview or tweak the distribution.
To double check, I reinstalled 1.0.0 and no bugsplat. Though wrong probab algorithm...
