Hey guys, I need some people to test the demo version. Rename your license file in "C:\ProgramData\Skatter\License" (or "System/Library/Application Support/Skatter/License/" on OSX) to something like "license_bak.lic" Then install the following and start the demo to see if it works fine : WIN : https://d2t08l5uidncyv.cloudfront.net/s ... _setup.exeOSX : https://d2t08l5uidncyv.cloudfront.net/s ... _setup.pkgYou can revert back to your full license by either activating again your license, or delete the new license file and rename back the old one. That would be helpful, thanks

Seems ok here, it installed fine apart from the Windows 10 un trusted warning, and activated fine.. It scattered a bunch of trees and grass no problem Is it limited in anyway? If its not I'll leave it on that license to make sure the trial ends Anyway, it seems fine with SU2015 on Win10 I kinda think 15 days would be better, I think most people would be happy to buy a lot earlier, Skatter allows people to do in Sketchup what they can't do in say Rhino

Thanks guys.
It's not limited apart from lasting 30 days.

I too think that 30day is too much. 7 is plenty to play with it.

I think 7 days are a bit too tight. It give a feeling of being "greedy" (for lack of a better word). 15 days feels more generous and 30 is maybe too much for this type of product.

I personally like 30 days - because often when testing one doesn't have time to test every day. (unless the trial is counting days of usage, like the old SU trials)
With 7days trials I often run out without really having tried it - then I'm stomped.

I have only trialed one product. Substance Designer. It's a massive product with a lot of new stuff to dig deep in... 30day trial was enough to find out that it was great!
Skatter is a one hour no brainer product. In a week you could perfectly do 3 projects with it.
Having said that, I also think 7 days is rather low and gives the wrong image.

It all depends if one have time to test every day. I find that often I only have time to test sporadically and not continuously. If there's only 7 days or so I tend to put it off until I think I have time to test continuously - but I never do.

Yup that's true and it has happened to me a lot. I downloaded your vertex tools, used it once on a weekend for that competition you pulled on Christmas theme, but got myself wrapped in work and when I had time for it again, the trial passed. So, I only download trials when I have the free time to test stuff... and that's the only reason I haven't downloaded SubD yet... I really love what it can do, but I... well I will let trial pass. What I'm doing in that case is that I'm already working with SubD as I'm building some meshes 1hr a week using quadfaces and trying quad workflows when I'm confortable with that, I'll download the trial... Maybe at that time you'll have it at render time or opensubdiv and I'll be ready for a workflow changer!

Yea, I didn't have time to implement a proper trial-extension function. So I opted for a longer trial period. Though for later releases I hope to have a way to extend the trial. Perhaps a way for a user to extend them-self once - then further via contact with me. Whenever I have to make a choice between any options I try to pick what might lead to less support calls - as that all to easily eats up time.
With an easy way to extend trials for users then a shorter trial period works - imo.

Not sure where to post this. I downloaded the demo version of skatter but I don't have win explorer 10 or greater. (I have windows 7 but I can't seem to upgrade and I use firefox.)
"You need to update Internet Explorer to version 10 or newer : Click here "
Anything I can do? I have upgraded every file under updates but no go on win explorer 11.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, webdialogs (the stuff used by extensions to make their own dialogs) on Windows use Internet Explorer (and Safari on OSX). There's just no way around it, sorry. You have to upgrade to IE11. Try this : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... -installer
