[REQ] random rotate at multiples of 90°

Like say 0, 90, 180, 270°
Useful for square tiles or anything else.
I use grid and then I would have liked to be able to randomise the rotation of a square tile (but only multiples of 90°). Right now I only have horizontal mirror and am forced to create 90°-rotated versions of the same tile...

You can nest your tile in 4 different components, each time rotated 90°.

But yes, we need an easier way to do that.

Yup Thomas,

the easiest way would be to enhance your horizontal mirror feature with a 90° rotated option. :)

In that case a option for random 180 degrees rotation only would be great for things like planks.

Doesn't Horizontal mirroring do the trick in this case?
The mirroring is random on both axies, so 1/4 of the time, it's actually a 180° rotation.

Kind of, but there might be occations where you don't want to mirror a texture.

Why not allow us to add our own increments...

I've been trying my own material genearation with skatter, (tried some wood planks actually) and I think this is something rather useful.

A bit off topic but...

It would be cool if we could also add our own pattern for which "object" is beeing scattered.
Like: [a,a,b,c,c,c] instead of random. :enlight:
Scattering objects on a curve in a certain pattern would be useful.

We made the sharing protocol open, so that other plugins can join the party.

Yes but nothing beats your development speed and support and PB2 doesn't shuffle things...

There is also Floor generator plugin functionallity that could be replicated here if you'd find ways of cutting components to the boundaries of surfaces. The thing is it wouldn't be available for render only proxies, of course...

Or groups... Or a single group. (Re)Generating them would recreate that group/groups...
