Beta 0.3.0Very important : Skatter now installs to a different location, so you need to uninstall previous versions and make sure every file is deleted. Otherwise you'll get duplicate conflicting files... On Windows :- Go to the Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall Skatter
- Then delete these folders and files if they still exist :
- C:\ProgramData\Skatter
- C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\SketchUp\Plugins\jbb_skatter
- C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\SketchUp\Plugins\jbb_skatter.rb
(Same for all the Sketchup versions) On OSX :Delete these folders and files : - /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Skatter
- /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2015/SketchUp/Plugins/jbb_skatter
- /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2015/SketchUp/Plugins/jbb_skatter.rb
(Same for all the Sketchup versions) Once you've double-check that all Skatter files are deleted for every sketchup version, you can safely install the new version of Skatter. Changelog:- Added translations*
- Skatter is now installed in C:/ProgramData/... on Windows, and in /Library/Application Support/... on OSX.
- Fixed an issue in SU2016 where the Skatter dialog losed focus when trying to type an input value
- Fixed an issue when opening models containing no attribute dictionnaries.
*Skatter automatically detects the language of Sketchup and uses the same for its own dialog if a translation is found. For now there's only a complete French translation. You can also find a .strings file in jbb_skatter\Resources\en-US with the original english strings. If you want to translate Skatter in your own language, copy this file and paste it in a new folder in jbb_skatter\Resources. The folder you create should be named as the localization tag of your language. Here are a few exemples : en-US, fr, it, de, es, ja, ko, zh-CN, zh-TW, pt-BR, nl, ru You can also force a language for Skatter in the Options tab. If you translate it, let me know and I can add your translation to the official version
FYI : We will open a semi-public beta to 50 early-adopters very soon!

hi Thomas,
why are you moving to the HD/Library/ on mac's?
anything that can run from there should run from the ~/Library useless you hardcode it not to...
I personally dislike not having the choice of keeping everything within my User space or not...

Because otherwise, admins can't install for regular users. And only admins can install it. Or am I mistaking?
And the Skatter Library should be installed in HD/Library/ anyway, because of distributed rendering issues.

Weird, this was already implemented in 0.2.2. Are you on Windows or OSX?

I'm on Windows, Noel is checking it on OSX. You may want to ping him or Joe for a more specific outline of the issue at hand.

Installation went smooth. Didn't get the previous false positive either. When installing I got a Windows smart screen popup asking if I want to install app from a unknown publisher. (Windows 8.1) I think this has to do with certification. Maybe you could ask another developer like Thomasz how he does it? Will try installing tomorrow at work...

You should have received a personal serial in the mail.

At first notice the only thing I found that's not working is the following: http://help.getskatter.com That can't be open from plugin or from a standard browser.

This made me try the new helper.
I don't like it very much. I prefered the old one though the reading was easier, though separating subjects was harder.
Basically I'd mix both. On the current version I'd use the left menu wich is nice but ditch the right one wich breaks reading flow.
As an example, clicking on a link of the right list, sends us to a help content that, sometimes is a one liner sentence.
I think skatter is simple enough to have the topics on the left and full text for each topic on the reading area on the right.
Do you think I explainned well enough? (I honestly don't think so...)
