... just playing around with something new (and simple) using Skatter (this suggestion is supposed to become a background wallpaper for a next year application I’m working on right now )

Quick question, does skater work with the standard SketchUp export?

What exactly do you mean by "SketchUp export"?

From the Scatter website HOMEPAGE... Through its “Render only” feature, Skatter sends all the scattering information directly to the render engines, bypassing Sketchup. Edit: Whoops, not thinking straight...

This exports what is visible in the viewport. So you'll need to disable the "Render Only" feature, so that Skatter generates the components in the model.

doing a Toothbrush is not a big thing I know however I wanted to achieve, that bristles of different lengths arrange themselves in bundles of bristles and in addition inside the short ones, in the middle the blue medium long ones and outside the long ones. To achieve this, I prepared the Skatter host areas as a grid already as shown below… Besides Skatter , I used SubD and FredoScale to bend the Skatter host surfaces. The render is done with Shaderlight…

In the 3D Warehouse I found some good objects from the user Alexej https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/by/dimax3dd?nav=modelsand rendered this image. But the models have to be worked hard before.

hi All - I would like to create a transition like shown below with Skatter and have no idea what I have to adjust at which position within Skatter Since it's a regular tiling I suspect that I need to use any grid setting and any falloff setting as well to produce a decreasing density of each tile in one direction or also a radial decreasing density instead of linear - I hope that someone here has an idea and can help me ? Or is Skatter probably not the right approach for such a task?

Here is one of my early uses of Skatter (with Thea render) for an Agriculture/Technology Company's Main Headquarters in the Upper Midwest Area of the U.S.
