Rendering in Thea with .png background?

Postby skylabridges » Wed Sep 23, 2015 11:01 pm

Does anyone know if I can render a building in Thea but with a transparent .png background? I want to render using the sun settings inside of sketchup, but I can't seem to get rid of the blasted blue sky in Thea (or rather I can, but the building is then sunk into very dark or entirely black).

Thanks!

You can either:

1 - render the image with the background in it by using the Environment tab that is located in Thea Render Window. You have to select the image and use it in background by editing IBL settings:

background.png

2 - Or you can render the image WITH an alpha channel and save it with a format that allows for transparency like PNG or EXR and then add the background with post editor software Like Photoshop, Gimp or Krita:
