Sketcup UV Mapping to Thea/Kerkythea

Postby FloBEAUG » Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:18 am

Hello,

I Hope I'am in the right place.
I would like to know if there is a way to export SketchUV UV maps to Kerkythea.

Here is my problem :
I make my UVs with SketchUV plugin and then export my scene with SU2KT but when i open KT, all is f* up :

Mapping in SU
SU-UV.jpg

Mapping in KT
KT-UV.jpg

Same problem with ThruPain plugin.

Thanks

I don't believe that would happen in Thea.

Try triangulating faces in in SU for KT.

Triangulate the faces.

Ok, it works fine with Thea :

I don't find triangulation in KT (the SU2KT plugin does it already).
Tried all options in SU2KT. Maybe if I triangulate before exporting...

Also tried OBJ and 3DS export in SU but it creates me a 1/1 face material ( 840 faces sphere --> 840 materials to deal with --> not fun)!

I do not have a license for Thea, just making 3d renders for fun (I would like to keep it free)
So Kerkythea is the solution that suits me well (simple, powerful and free).

I replied too quickly !
Triangulation before exporting works great.

Thanks for your help !

I've also found that when textures appear correct in sketchup but wonky in Thea renders I right click on the texture and check "make the texture unique" then it renders as expected.
