In Baker St. Pub & Grill (1729 28th Street Boulder, CO 80301) 8 PM (Mountain Time).

There is an outdoor "patio" with fire if needed (as we could hear about some snow, well be needed).

Each BaseCampers and Passers-By are warmly welcome! Rich has already made some arrangements but make sure you are there in time (otherwise the pub may be dry and empty by the time you are there)

Well Csaba, as regards the potential problem of the pub running dry? If you come late that should not arise :)

Just to be different I'll be at The Baker Street Pub [with some other 'nerds'] for most of the second half of Sunday afternoon... Not to mention lunch :?
Then ~6pm I have to duck out for dinner with some other guys over at Flagstaff House, off to the west... until a bit later on...
So I'll see you all, back in 'the pub' later, nearer to the end of Sunday night...
[when IS 'closing-time'?]
[Just after Thomthom'll turn up I expect...]
I'm exhausted already :o

What's the best way to get from the airport to Boulder?
There are a few different ways to travel between the airport and Boulder:

  • Public Transportation: There is a very convenient public bus that runs from the airport to the center of downtown Boulder. Look for the AB bus; this is the only one that runs between the airport and Boulder. It leaves about once an hour and takes between 60 and 90 minutes. The schedule is online. Refer to "Westbound" for departures from the airport and "Eastbound" for departures from Boulder. The cost is $16 each way, payable in cash directly to the bus driver. Exact change is required.
  • Shuttle Bus: Try the SuperShuttle if the public bus doesn't work for you.
  • Taxi: Cabs from the airport to Boulder are about $100 each way. This isn't an attractive option for most people.
  • Rental Car: All of the major car rental companies operate out of Denver International Airport.

That's the thing, if the bus is full it's a long trip.

The shuttle drops folks off at their destinations along the way, so more folks more stops and deviations, where the bus is a straight ride, however the drop off may be too far from hotel and require one to catch a cab in Boulder...not sure where the bus goes.

The other advantage of the shuttle is on leaving, you can schedule for a pickup from the hotel at a time convenient to you.

Well since this is a political season i'll modify the phrase "Vote early and Vote often" to this"

"Arrive early and Drink often"

I'll probably head over to Baker Street Pub and Grill for Lunch on Sunday. I Don't know which Sketchup T-shirt I'll be wearing but I assume it'll be easy to spot the SU'pers from the Regulars.

The Grill has excellent food. And fairly reasonable prices (especially during Happy Hours). I liked that salmon thingy (thingie? both are marked incorrect by my spell check) with mashed potatoes.

Many of us will arrive on Saturday evening though so we'll miss your lunch-time, sorry.

So... Just to clarify... Rich Morin is "hosting" developers at Bakers Street starting at 11:00 AM... The Facebook page is inviting folks to Bakers Street at 4:00 PM... And SketchUcation is telling people to come at 8:00 PM...

Should plan here be to move into Bakers Street for the day?

We literally moved in last time. The back corner by the fire pit was ours. If we weren't in the conference hall, or passed out int he hotel room, we were at Baker Street. It was excellent! :berserk: (and I don't even drink! :ugeek: )

I'll try to make it tonight to Baker Street, but work may get in the way. Is anyone meeting up tomorrow morning ahead of the 9:30 sign in?

Snooze on Pearl street is nice breakfast place about 4-5 blocks east of Boulder Theater.
http://www.snoozeeatery.com/

The Cup is a nice coffee shop that also opens early, and has some breakfast sandwiches.

Or if anyone is interested in a morning hike, I could be coaxed into that? I could get a few people to Chautauqua (by the flatirons).

I already called them about 8:00 their time and it sounded like everyone was awake already! Then I talked again to my co-worker who is there at about 9:45 and it sounded like the entire town of Boulder was waiting outside the conference area waiting to be let in. So I think they managed to curb their drinking just enough last night to still be able to get up and get moving this morning!

With the exception of Csaba, everyone was well behaved and drinking was light and social,I just could not drink last night as I must have some sort of altitude sickness, nauseous, dry mouth and cannot sleep. I did not make today's base-camp session as I was just not feeling right, Csaba after a heavy night stepped in for me to do the Thea Render roundup presentation (I had a video planned just had to click play) He did get some laughs when it came to the questions session, he let everyone know he was "a render idiot" so at that point he could say pretty much anything.
I have full hour presentation tomorrow set up so all should go swimmingly. Too bad as I type this all the guys are at the Base-camp party, I just need to get more sleep so i do not miss another day.
