[Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Hi all,
I struggle a bit with this plugin; after manipulating the control points and closing the group, I cannot see an "Update FFD" menu item. I believe an earlier poster had the same issue. Can anyone help? Thanks. Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)
Ditto ![]() ![]() Sketchup Make 2017 (64-bit), Vray 4.0 , Windows 10 – 64 bit, corei7-8750H, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)I am having the same problem. I have tried installing every version of the script and there is no 'Update FFD' menu button. The other FFD submenu is there though. I'm using Sketchup Make 2015. Has anyone solved this problem?
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Install the latest version.
Then, at the risk of déjà vu read: viewtopic.php?p=485421#p485421 It all works from the context-menu - given a suitable selection... But remember that it is an old creaky plugin, from way back yore... TIG
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Thanks for the reply. I have tried installing every version and none of them have that button. The rest of the submenu is there like I said, but when you adjust the control points, nothing happens and there is no update button.
Is there a newer plugin that works better than this then? I haven't found another that can twist and warp organic shapes like this one is supposed to.
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Ok never mind. I installed it again for the 5th time and it works for some reason!
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Fantastic tool sir!
I've just started using it. Its working amazingly well but when i open(double click) the control point group to alter control point locations for deformation, the object i'm working on vanishes leaving only the control points behind. The transformation done is taking place but I only see it on the object after i click close group. Can you help me figure what i'm doing wrong? I've attached the screenshots for reference. Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)When you edit a Group or Component you can set the rest of the model to be 'hidden', OR not.
See:- View > Component Edit > Hide Rest of Model - toggle it ON/OFF Sometimes hiding the rest of the model is useful, but sometimes you want to see it - as in this case ! TIG
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)You can also use the Structure function for easy use of this plugin!

Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Why are you messing on with an RBZ ?
This is an old plugin - putting the RB file [latest version] inside the Plugins folder and restarting SketchUp ought to be all you need... But if you want to use an .RBZ, you must make a .ZIP of the lone .RB and then change its file-type to .RBZ - use Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension... on that RBZ and it's put into the Plugins folder for you... But have you [re]read the Usage instructions ? This tool - when properly installed - works from the context-menu, but only when you have a suitable group selected... Here are its instructions again...

Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Thank you Chris. I was drawing the half dome of Maxentius basilica, and needed just that.
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Hello
I'm a little bit corrected your plugin Now It supports polygons. He checks the creation of new edges. And converts the resulting triangles in polygon. Strings 534-538

Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)TGI 3D - Free Version
http://www.tgi3d.com Note: Tgi3D SU Amorph Training Edition has the same functionality of Tgi3D SU Amorph, except that it has a limit on the number of vertices to work with. It is still fully functional and will let you experience and appreciate all the features of Tgi3D SU Amorph. Download (Win | Mac)
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)i am running 2016 SU on my macbook air, and the FFD plugin doesn't seem to function. I am missing options in the right-click menu. and when I manipulated the points, nothing happened.
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Please can you help me to solve this problem..I've downloaded the script but it doesn't work because of 'Unsigned Author'
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)It's an old plugin. So it won't be 'signed'. If you set SketchUp's Extension Loading Policy to be 'Unrestricted', then it should load - always presuming that it's still compatible with the current SketchUp version... TIG
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Thank you for your reply..But the problem still here..Please can you give me a similar plugin to FFD sketchy. It would be really helpfull for me.Thanks for you time
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)Once I create the control points, I can't seem to grab or sellect them. Working on a mac if it matters.
Would appreciate any help on this because it looks like an awesome plugin. FIgured it out. 1. double click ffd control points in outliner window 2. be sure to check unlock edges in right click ffd context window I'll leave this here on the chance others are having the same issue Last edited by Goodspeeder on Thu Dec 14, 2017 2:19 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: [Plugin] SketchyFFD (Updated 20130203)They are inside a group, so edit the group and you can then select them individually, or multiply holding Shift etc, or by fence etc... TIG
