[Plugin][$] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19works perfectly here.
try direct: https://www.racoon-artworks.de/resource_extendborders.php p.s. his ShapeConnect is also interesting: Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19
Yes, the page works, but the download button does nothing. ![]() Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Everything works here, maybe its your ad blocker- try DL via smart phone. Let's discuss it in PMs, not in the thread
Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Hi Fredo
There seems to be an issue with JPP Normal. It doesn't produce sides. This is running 2021.1.299 on Win 7 with Lib 11.9c and JPP 4.4e Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19I just tested it with 2018 Pro and it works fine. Must be something with the newer SU version.
Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19
That's 100% because you set "borders" to "none". ![]() Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19
I was sure I had checked that, in fact I'm still sure that I changed to to None while trying to make it work. But you are absolutely correct, as soon as I set it to Contour or Grid it works perfectly. Sorry Fredo, all good. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19
Glad that it helped. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19

Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Cheers,
I just found out about JPP Thickening. I use JPP for ages and never noticed it there and now it just solved an issue I had. Great! Just great! Thanks!
Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19JPP Thickening is just Joint Push Pull without a button palette. Which issue did it solve?
Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19I was trying to offset all faces of a surface exactly 20cm and both the regular JPP and Normal JPP failed while thickening seemed to work.
Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Hello, I've been working with this plugin for a long time.
This question comes up in our German forum: Almost all surfaces (objects) can be thickened. Is it also possible to make an object thinner without leaving the side edges and surfaces remaining? If it is possible, please write us how it works. Many Thanks Peter Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19One of the setting with JPP is the second face, if you untick the that then moving inward will make things 'thinner' if that's what you mean.
If not, you need to show an example of what you mean. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19It's right, the objects get thinner when I push inward. However, edges and surfaces remain that have to be laboriously erased on a complicated object.
I mean those edges and lines marked with red arrows. Peter Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Many questions, many possibilities.
Can you not Scale the object or Move the face. The problem with questions like this is there is no single answer, so much depends on the shape and what you want the result to be. Attaching a model would help. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Use Joint Push Pull to thin an object without creating edges and faces. If I just move the face, the thickness won't stay even. The same applies to scaling. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Often the tool you think you need isn't, a simple offset and follow me is another way to do what you want, PP to correct the ends if necessary.
The main point being that there are many ways to do things and some times it pays to think simply. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Ok, thanks for the other option to change a model. That was of course a very simple test model.
The time required for your option is similar to that of deleting these surfaces / edges according to JPP. In principle, we don't have an exact answer as to why these edges and faces remain when the object is thinned. I am sure that only the developer fredo6 can answer that. I will post this result in our German forum. Thanks again. Peter Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19The reason the edges and faces exist is the nature of the tool, it is pushing back following the face and therefore creating extra geometry.
This is not a bug of a fault in the software, it is doing what is expected. Use the undo option and jpp less. Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Pay attention to what is actually happening when you use JPP. It's extruding in the direction of the normals of the faces as it is designed to do. As Box indicates, it's doing what it is supposed to do even though that's not what you want. If you must use JPP to add the thickness and you want a different thickness, the easy thing to do would be to copy the original surface and run JPP to extrude to the desired thickness.

Re: [Plugin] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 19Hello Dave and Box,
Yes, I think the best option is to erase the face that has already been made too thick and recreate the reduced thickness. Thank you! Peter Re: [Plugin][$] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 1Hi,
How can I purchase the plugin when my country is under U. S. sanctions? ![]() Re: [Plugin][$] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 1
Not much we can do about sanctions.
Re: [Plugin][$] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 1
Can you refer to a replacement for JointPushPull plugin? I've tried the classic JointPushPull already. Re: [Plugin][$] JointPushPull Interactive - v4.4e - 02 Jun 1
I can't think of any. Save the Earth, it's the only planet with chocolate.
