I think I know why it isn't working. Basically, when you close the dialog, by default the dialog unregisters the observer, which prevents the swo_on_quit observer method from being triggered. But, just to ensure the swo_on_quit is working, paste and submit this code into ruby console and quit SketchUp. This should show the 'Works!' message box.

Code: Select all
class AMSObserverTest; def swo_on_quit; UI.messagebox('Works!'); end; end; AMS::Sketchup.add_observer(AMSObserverTest.new)

Ghurait! Try the new version!

(The test you did was meant to check AMS Library observer, which had nothing to do with changing how AMS Window Settings 4.0.0 worked.)

ams window dialog stuck.jpg
Hi Anton
The settings dialog icon from your plugin tries to open the SU program dialog for an instant but closes and just opens your settings.
No way to move to another monitor or make floating.
just a fixed location per my screen clip.
(Your settings is grayed out by screen capture software)
??
Win 7 pro
SU 2015 pro
Firfox

This is a must have script and thanks thanks thanks.
A fix would sure be appreciated

I removed the pick and drag feature, just cause I thought upper-right corner of the view was the best location for the dialog. I might re-add it in the next release.

It looks like my plugin tries create a new dialog, but in fact, that's the same dialog with border and caption removed. I will make it do such procedure faster, so it's done before the dialog is set visible.

Hi Anton
The border and caption (SU)will be needed to drag the plugin.
Also to locate the plugin on another screen.
Thanks

I won't add the border and caption, cause I think the widows frame doesn't look so good, but I will make the green heading draggable and clippable...

Hi Anton
Good news to be able to drag.
Will it lock to other SU captions ?
Very handy to set a typ screen org for templates.
Here is how I use them in any case.
(in line here)
SU Window Settings is on screen #2
Your plugin should have been part of SU from the very beginning.
Thanks for getting back too.

Re: [Plugin] AMS Window Settings 4.1.0

Postby Anton_S » Sat Nov 29, 2014 4:05 am

4.1.0 has been released!

- Added pick, drag and clip feature to the new dialog.
- Made borders hide faster.
- Added localization to dialog.

Click on green caption to drag the dialog, easy as that...

Anton

V4.1.0 did not drag (or move) green title and would not close menu when arrow was clicked.
SU title hide was still slow.
Show/Hide toolbars and dialogs killed all my on screen settings for both when invoked.
Sorry

It works well on my windows 7. What operating system are you using and what internet explorer version?

Edit: I tested on my Windows XP (with IE9) and it doesn't work just like you described. There is not much I can do about compatibility other than retrieving the original version. So, if you use IE9, use the old version which is compatible in SU2014 and below. You need AMS Library 1.0.9 for the old version too. Here are the links:

By your screenshots I noticed you're using windows classic theme. If that so, try settings it to aero theme in see how it goes.

In prior post you mentioned that works fine in SU2014, but not in SU2015. If that so, are you speaking of version 4.1.0? I.E do you have 4.1.0 installed on both SU versions? With regards to that, do you have AMS Library 2.0.0 installed in SU2014 and SU2015?

Anton
Here are my setups for your plugin.

SU 2014 Pro (works properly)
Lib 1.0.8
Win 3.8.0

SU 2015 Pro 64
Lib 2.0.0
Win 4.1.0

Perhaps the problem is in not having the SU title stay with your menu(s)then attached.
In SU 2014 I select the SU title to drag and your menus stick to it and go along with it when dragged.
Also my SU 2015 is 64 bit version.

Hope that helps

Version 4.1.5 Had been released!
  • Fixed pick and drag bug.
  • Adjusted close button size.
  • Disabled high contrast optimization.
  • Made compatible with IE9.

Thanks do dtrarch for reporting the bug.

Noel Anton
FYI
Last update works properly but when moved to second screen and saved as template/file your title/pull down menu location is not remembered.
It shows up on primary screen as SU title and then changes to your title when moved.
I know you do not like the way the SU tiles look but I think this SU title must stick/remain when moved so that the saved file can remember the location as a SU function.

Thanks again so much for all your good work and this super Plugin. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Cheers

Sorry, I forgot.

There, try this one! There was literally a bug in script that moved the dialog to the upper right corner of the viewport. I think it is fixed now. I would like you to verify it before I post it to the PluginStore though.

Here it is:

Anton

I checked multiple times and good news as it sticks as SU Title on selected screen or window location.
The select mode to access your menu is a little odd as when the SU title is selected one must then move the cursor off the title box and then the Window Settings title shows but is greyed out until the pull down arrow is selected.
Double click on SU title has no effect to get the WS menu.
Hmmmmm??

Okay, thanks for the good news.

Are you asking why WindowSettings drop-down menu doesn't activate when you select the WindowSettings title bar, move the cursor, and then deselect it?

That's because the title bar is designed for two purposes. One to move it and the other to activate the drop-down. It will be odd if the person moves the dialog and figures that the drop-down has activated too.

So, here is how it works:
If user selects the title bar without moving the cursor the drop-down mode is activated.
If user selects the title bar and moves the cursor (while the mouse button is down) the move mode is activated.

Is that what you were indicating odd?

OK Anton

Yes it works as you have intended and described. :thumb: :thumb:
I guess when I saw the SU title box I expected to double click on it to get/select your Green title bar/options.
I did not expect to have to move off the SU title bar to get to your app.
That's all. :enlight:
Thanks for all the trouble too.

Hi, first of all, - thanks for the plug!
Question: when I click "hide floatin dialogs" v-ray windows are still visible.
Is it possible to do these windows have been hiding?
