[Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsRe: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsYou can change the orientation of te gizmo already with the right click context menu
Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools
Not all too much activity the last few months. During the summer I do less coding - trying to make use of the little "summer" we get in Norway. The plan is to ship SUbD 2.0 with OpenSubdiv support. (it's not far from complete.) Then pick up Vertex Tools.
I've been thinking of something like adding a UI that let you control the falloff using bezier curves. Something similar to what 3dsmax do.
I'm not sure I follow on this one - extruded edges are all planar faces, right?
I like that idea - orient to the best fit plane. ![]() ![]() Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsHI Thomthom,
May I wish the ability to make planar along say x , y or z based on the active gizmo. I always had problem mirroring when the vertices are not in their perfect x,y or z. Thanks Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools
Use gizmo-scale to zero? Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools
I hope I could made my point clearer. At some point whenever modeling more complicated models, somehow the models gets messed up so i need to cut the half and mirror from the center to make it whole again. But to successfully mirror it, vertices need to be coplanar and need to be at least in perfect alignment with an axis, say x or y. Whenever I run "make planar". Vertices get aligned for sure but not in a defined axis (x or y) Maybe there is something I am not doing correctly. Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsSelect the verts you want planar and use the Gizmo scale handle to make them planar in the axis of choice.
Just be sure to hit 0 and enter after dragging the handle to scale them planar. There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsIn VT2 the scale will stop at 0 - making it easier. Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
(Original Post) As this post is now six years old and it looks like there are still only two choices for this (linear and cosine), will this possibly be added at some point? It would be great to be able to manipulate the curve myself, but the pinched shape from the image would already be a wonderful addition. I am thinking about buying the plugin and this would certainly have an impact on my decision. ![]() Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsOh, I didn't see that! And it even is on the last page of the topic... I'm sorry, I just saw it was not yet implemented and did not want to read through all 15 pages, I hope you don't mind.
Sounds great, though, I am looking forward to it. Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsNo worries

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsHello Thom,
I've just purchased the Vertex tool plugin. I loaded in SU with the Sketchucation importer and....it doesn't work! I close nd re open SU and it appears to me a loading error message on screen. How can I fix it? Please help me to find a way to fix it I have SU 2015 and Windows 8 pc and various other plugins loaded. Maybe something incompatible? Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools
It would be useful if you share the exact error message. Etaoin Shrdlu

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Toolshi all! just started using this tool and am LOVING it! one thing though. is there any way to enter a scale or distance factor when in gizmo mode? the advantage of this would be that i could scale by half in just one axis rather than all at once. thanks in advance for your tips and this excellent resource!

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsAchk! This is Windows Defender, right? Windows 10?
Had this issue a couple of releases ago. I submitted the false positive to Microsoft and they updated their definitions. For some reason Defender freaks out about a JS file used for the webdialogs. It's bogus though. Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsCan you try downloading from Extension Warehouse? http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/vertex-tools
I'm curious if Defender reacts differently depending on what site the file is downloaded from. Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsInteresting. I wonder if part of this might be trust based on download source. My website is a rather new one - so possibly that affects things... I dunno. I just hope they come back to me with some insight.

Thanks for such a prompt respons thomthom! look forward to the fix ![]() Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsI buy a license... but today the vertex tool doesn't work.
I have a blank panel with the title "Vertex tool license"... How I can reactivate my license ? Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools
Hi. Sorry to hear that. I need some more information though. What SketchUp version? What version of Vertex Tools do you have installed? Also, you are on Windows, right? Windows 7? Any chance that you are using IE8? If so, then you need to update IE as minimum version for SketchUp and Vertex Tools is IE9. Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex ToolsHi Tomtom
I have purchased the plugin, but when i activating a gizmo the soft select radius in measurement dialog appear. I try moving the vertex when a gizmo is active (using the arrow), and the measurement dialog show the distance, but when i release the gizmo (arrow), the dialog automatically change to soft select radius, and the distance disappear. I can not move precisely vertex with numerical imput! |
