mukul.ar wrote:Ok guys so here's the next challenge:

From Heman's sword to Doctor Octopus' mechanical arms... These cool Superhero/villain weapons have always intrigued me (us?). So this time lets model famous superhero/supervillain weapons. Kindly mention the weapon and the superhero/villain that uses it. Alternatively you may also choose to design a superweapon for some super hero.. This time lets SuperSketch!!

The rest of the challenge rules as they are. :)

The rules:

- 30 minutes maximum modeling time

- Unlimited preparation time for thinking, sketching, researching but NOT FOR MODELING

- Community will vote for favorite submission at competition end

- Multiple entries are allowed

- Please provide a Wireframe or Hidden Line image, an Untextured image and a Textured image of your model (800x600)

- SketchUp output only

- Please be considerate to members with slower connections when submitting images (800x600)

- Any texturing should be done within the 30 minutes

- As enthusiastic as some of you are about rendering, kindly refrain from posting any renderings in the gallery as they could solicit votes, remember this is about modeling, not rendering

Great challenge. Batman's throwing stars... Used gimp's golden gradient to get the shiny bevel.

Hi Eric,

This actually is SketchUp output. Sorry, I should have been clearer. I am attaching the skp file.
batman_throwing_star.skp

I mapped the textures prepared in gimp using Tgi3D SU Amorph plugin's UV mapping and texturing utility. The video in the link below shows how to do it.

Well, I think I bit off a bit more than I could comfortably chew... And technically it's ten seperate weapons...

But...

The Rings of the Mandarin, (an) arch-foe of Iron Man.

Done with use of Bezier Curves and Shape Bender.

And it gave me an idea for a second one...

This basically sums up the Green Lantern

Jerry: "So, what's this guy about?"
Elaine: "I don't know. He wouldn't tell me his phone number, where he worked. I'll bet he's in a relationship."
Jerry: "Or he's a crime fighter safeguarding his secret identity. Elaine, you
could be dating the Green Lantern!"
Elaine: "Which one is he?"
Jerry: "Green suit, power ring."
Elaine: "I don't care for jewelry on men."
