Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsStar Wars
The rules: -30 mins max modelling time -unlimited prep time (thinking, sketching, looking for pics etc. NO MODELLING!) -I will ask people to judge the models on time taken to model, quality of the model and originality of the idea. -Multiple entries are allowed, keep it sensible though. -Please provide a wire frame shot of your model when you post. -Sketchup output only (and as much as i know you love rendering your models, it would be appreciated if you could hold of posting them in the gallery until after the comp.) -Any texturing should be done within the modelling time. Comp closes 1st November at 6.00 PM BST. Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsOut of competition (as this is actually Pete's Thea Material)
![]() Death Star! (Otherwise 2 minutes of texture merging if that counts and another two modelling and applying spherical UV map then Thothmom's UV Toolkit for "Front face to back face) Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsSo why is it out of competition? It is a texture applied to a sphere, well within the time constraints.
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsPlagiarism. The Thea mat scene gave the idea itself. (And I did not add any value to it myself)
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsLight Saber... I think?
Star wars is not all about space ship. Light Saber is the signature of the star wars. 20 minutes: 15 modeling, 5 minute applying color and style The beam light does not come out like i expected it would be. Some the back side of the beam is appear darker in the center. Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsNew Strategy . .. let the wookie win.

Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsOhh I thought it was (again) that subcivide and smoth that I haven't bought yet.
So, this new plugin will be comercial? can you talk about it or is it top secret? Nice helmet. I also would love a tutorial, be it done with or without plugins ![]() "Aquel que sacrifica un poco de libertad por seguridad, no se merece ninguna y terminará perdiendo ambas"
-Benjamín Franklin. Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsSmall Question before I start my StarWars-participation
![]() How do you check the duration of the 30 minute modeling-time of the competitors ? Or is it just based on trust and have some fun ? I guess so and I hope I will succeed with my idea within the estimated time ![]() Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsBased on trust, anyway seasoned users can eyeball if the model looks like it has been imported or exceeded the time.
However we are all honest folk here (I hope) and so far the honor system has worked well (i believe).
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsI use the force to find out the competitors modelling time. If it's over the allotted time i apply the Vader choke followed by the Vulcan pinch. Oh wait, that's Star Trek!
Participants have screen captured their modelling in the past. @SCF [Jedi Mind Trick]Vote rclub24[Jedi Mind Trick] ![]() There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star Wars
I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . If I make it look easy. . .then it probably is.
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsWell, I've made something I think it fits to the Star Wars theme. It's an exit/entree of the Next Executor flagship of Darth Vader ! *fiction made by myself*
![]() I made 2 screenshot's of the wireframe (sorry for the blue background at SC1) Small explanation of my work: - First I made a small rectangle, then I made various of smaller rectangles in this area and with Push&Pull I pulled every rectangle to a variable hight. - I grouped this rectangle and copied this to 12 sections for one side. I flipped the rectangles randomly. - Put some small "pipes" in the triangle area, to create a Science-Fiction view of a mobile city, like the Executor in Star Wars and Enterprise in Star Trek. Add some mist to create more dept.: It's my first speed contest and it's really hard to complete the drawing within the 30 minutes. This drawing was finished just 10 seconds before the beep. I wanted to put Luke's X-wing Fighter, going ahead to meet Dart Vader ![]() I hope this participation would been approved ? ![]() (sorry for my bad English...but I think it's always better than your Dutch ??? ![]() Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star Wars
If it was within the 30 seconds, surely it should be accepted! ![]() Next time you challenge such a boring and long job like PushPulling multitude of faces however, you could use something like Chris's Greeble Plugin or similar! ![]() Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star Warsactually that reminds me more of the interior of the MotherShip in Independence Day. . .
DQ! ![]() If I make it look easy. . .then it probably is.
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsYou're totally right about Independence Day ! I thought it was in Starwars with the Chase from out of the mothership back to space and than the huge explosion...but it wasn't.
But hopefully it's also Starwars related ? ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsTime is running out on this comp guys and there are only 3 entries!
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star Warswhat a coincidence!
Vader Costume If I make it look easy. . .then it probably is.
Re: Speed modelling Competition #32 Star WarsThe LEGO Han Solo!
