SCF COMPETITION - Design Your Ideal Work Desk / Station!

That couch looks inviting after hours on this trampoline.
I was thinking I'd really like to work on site at one of our garden
installations. Here's my idea for a Sketchup Eisle with trampoline

How did you go mate!

Here is what I thought might work!

Richard, it's a good idea, and probably the way forward, but I think you need the footprint to be slightly bigger (if not much bigger) than that. :)

Yeah think your right mate! Just trying to suggest a way to try and keep it concealed so jop's design isn't spoilt.

The way to do that, is to shift the axis away from where it is at the moment- which unfortunately means, have a re-think and coming back to it later, probably with a slightly better design. You've got a week and a half! ;) :D

This of course is not something new... just a little bit improved. I want a computer I can actually use on my lap: I want to work on the screen itself (like cintiq or something) with a pen (because fingerpainting like ipad is for kids - it's too imprecise)
Also I want to be able to stabilize it easily so it has to have a cushion attached to it. Nice and comfy. Detachable of course.
And I want to be able to take it anywhere. In the image it's being used on a couch, but it would have to be as usable on any work site (i.e. some building I'll be drawing in order to put it on GE, taking measures and drawing them in SU at the very same time)

Rendered in V-ray... little test for light-emitting material :)

Got to be honest about my earlier post so there is no error. Not interested in the prizes, just the cap. Ta.

Sorry I have been away from the house for awhile. Just got your suggestion Richard. I like it. Trying to think about how it would work with the laminated top. I am going to convert mine quick to see if I can get it to work otherwise I will just upload the model so it is officially entered by the new deadline.

Cheers!

Jeff

EDIT: Added file to my original post...going to have to take time to play with the leg design at some point when I have less work.

What's the score then Mike? Has the competition closed now?

I'm off and away from the internet for a few days from tomorrow, while the kids are off school (Granny's house in Bognor Regis). Should have iPhone contact though :)

Fair enough, I presume no one else has objections. PM me if there are and I will keep it confidential! Speak now or forever hold your peace!

I can't see a problem. Wiggs' design did arrive just before the new deadline. :)

It's just a shame that more people didn't enter. I've had three more ideas for designs including a standing up to table, and a modification for an existing entry by another entrant, but I didn't pursue them because I thought it would be unfair competition to enter more than one.

Looking forward to seeing the winners, and receiving one of those hats! :D
