Postby remus » Fri Feb 26, 2010 9:34 am

FIRE!!

Im sure you know the drill by know: 30 mins to model something related to fire. Back to the standard rule set which can be found at the top of the competition forum: viewtopic.php?f=291&t=16530

Entries need to be in by 6 PM GMT on 12th March.

Good luck!

12th February? Bit unfair to require us to time-travel...

Hi so appreciated Sketchy Fellows!! (please vote for me :lol: )

This is my first entry in Sketch Challenges. I Wanted to compete for long but I had always something else to do.
Damned, Half of an hour is so short!!! Not enough time to deliver a perfect work.

My work: 32'46" :oops:

- Texturing done within the modeling time with the so great ArtRage 2.5 Starter Edition (Win or Mac)
Main plugins I had used:
TIG_ Extrude Edges by Rails
Fredo_ FredoScale
Fredo_BZ__Animation
ChrisFullmer_Component Stringer

And the FireWired ;)

kinda lame, but it uses the new EE by Loft and subsmoove. . .anyway. .. I just wanted to see this comp get a little more play. In other words, I don't expect this to set the world on fire. . . . :oops: ;)

It amazes me that as long as the challenges have been going on that people are not reading the rules, or they just don't care. :roll:

Remus, I think you ought to place the rules in the first post of each challenge from now on. But that is just my opinion.

Did you model the city the wings and the posable figure within the 30min time limit?

@Remus

I agree with Eric, as i also incorrectly posted a render, and only after checking through the rules thread did i realise my error! Admittedly, i should be aware (and you do remind us to read the rules prior to every comp) but having seeing renders creep in over the last few comps i presumed wrongly :oops:

@Simon

Great entry :thumb:

The wings are the only part in the entry, the figure and the city part is only eye candy. Must have misread it, I didn't see any rule against additional images related to the topic but aren't entries...

I'd object to the entry for the simple reason that it's a naked guy standing on top of a building. . .and he's got WINGS!!

I'll add the rules at the start of each new thread, then. Must agree that people do seem to be flouting them a fair bit recently...

KXI, the whole idea of the comp is to see what you can do in 30 mins, if you start adding elements that you havent modelled in the 30 mins it's kind of misleading, dont you think?

In light of this could you take down your images with the extra elements? thanks :)
