Indigo Renderer + Sketchup plugin developer

Postby IndigoRenderer » Thu Apr 20, 2017 10:48 pm

Hi all!

Glare Technologies is looking to hire new developers to work on our 3D application plugins, to ensure an efficient and production ready workflow for Indigo 4 and beyond. We're now looking for a new developer to work on our Indigo plugin for SketchUp (called SkIndigo).

You will be responsible for tighter renderer integration, implementing support for new Indigo features into the plugin, as well as fixing bugs and responding to user requests. The plugin is written in Ruby, and some experience with 3D graphics programming would also be great.

Location: We are based in London, UK, and Berlin, Germany, but remote work is fine as well!

Job Type: This is a part-time job, up to 10 hours a week, with the potential for longer hours in the future. Working hours and number are negotiable and flexible.

Contact us for pay and other details at:
contact@indigorenderer.com

We hope to hear from you soon!

Best,
The Indigo team

Yes, I would support, since Indigo has a very good integration into the MSPysics plugin. Good rendering programs that support SketchUp simulations (especially physics animations) are really rare.

Very excited to see progress on Indigo, have not used it in about 10 years and hope the new version is Hybrid cpu and gpu.

Good luck in your search for the right guy.

Thanks for your positive comments everyone! We used to have hybrid rendering for Indigo 3, where the GPU helped the CPU out with certain tasks.

For Indigo 4, there's a completely new multi-GPU OpenCL core. While you can use CPUs as OpenCL units, a good GPU is usually many times faster.

Have a look at the video below for Indigo 4 Beta running on a GTX 1070:

Pretty quick on that one card, can just imagine my dual 1080 ti's and 16 threaded Ryzen, is there an open or closed beta?

*edit* I see there is still only an exporter and not true integration yet for SU, I guess this is in the works hence the original post.
