A metal screw (false) in less than 1 minute, head included ?

Postby cesom » Sun Nov 14, 2021 2:51 pm

► Why bother and waste a lot of time to draw a metal screw ???

► Just follow this tutorial to draw it in less than 1 minute, head included, here it is a hollow hexagonal head.

► The thread is first modeled and then the necessary head is modeled.

If you only want to indicate that it's a screw and real screw threads are not important, just use a texture. It won't bloat the model file with unneeded geometry like your "screw" does. It'll be faster have less impact on file size, and do the job just as well.

Yes indeed it is another interesting solution than applying a texture, but the rendering is less pretty. The goal here is to make a screw very similar to reality, without drawing spirals.
Everyone will choose their solution according to what they want as a result.
There are others like achieving a revolution ...
Thanks for the advice to those who read the comments.
