Alphabet to sketch(up)Inspired by the 3D text tool I am doing some sketches. They are meant to be suitable for 3D modeling using SketchUp and also one may simply consider them as a source of form creation.
It is more than two months that the situation is very crucial here and this has hindered me to progress. By the way, this is a glance at this set of sketches. Last edited by majid on Thu Mar 09, 2023 4:26 am, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)As I am not familiar with the Copyright issues, is there anybody here to answer this question please:
I am using the typography samples, for example I gather 30 samples. Then I chose some to sketch and turn to 3D architectural subjects, i.e. 6 samples out of 30. Am I facing copyright issues? I have done search images of each letter's typography or logo samples. The very first image i.e. is one of those pages. My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I am revamping the sketches and doing the final touches and here are some more images of the book/ The book is designed to encourage hand-sketching and at the same time one may make 3D models of the sketches using our beloved piece of software, SketchUp ( or any other 3D package). I love the loose nature of hand sketches as it provides me with sence of freedom and creativity.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Majid, you have some real skills. I wish that I had your drawing skills and thought pattern. I am an older guy who enjoys the capabilities of software like SU but have problems coming up with ideas like I see people like you display/share on forums like this one.

I wish I had a good command of English! and maybe we could make a deal; I share my sketching skills with you and you teach me English (Kidding, but might be serious) ![]() I personally believe that creativity is teachable and I had a practical experience shared briefly on my LinkedIn page. (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/creativi ... d-yeganegi). I personally am a hard worker rather than talented, I believe. I could soon publish the book and you find it handy. Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I did a rough 3D and composition of one of the sketches.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)To be honest, from sketches to models there still is a gap that needs creativity.
I also did not judge myself while sketching, which is why some sketches somehow seem illogical. My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Twilight + Krita!
Searched for and find a waterfall image, rendered the model separately, and matched them. Searched for "cliff waterfall rocks tree wallpaper" in google. https://www.wallpaperflare.com/cliffs-waterfall-rocks-trees-scenics-nature-long-exposure-wallpaper-hxnwz My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Went and had a quick look at Krita. It looks pretty neat will have to give it a try.
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Don't forget that quasi any Ai can import your "architecture alphabet" !
![]() Prompt was "integrated house dark forest stormy sky rocky mountain small water falls" At night Café https://creator.nightcafe.studio You must just put a mask on your "Alphabet" (made inside NightCafé) You can make any number of free images if you take "small" sizes & regulates... image following is not retouched! Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I like your approach Pilou, as there is no need to be precise and these sketches are drills to improve imagination, creativity, and modeling skills (if one models them in their favorite 3D modeling tool. So the easier and faster way of visualization, the better. They are rough sketches of "architectural-like" forms and one may consider them as a fun game of volume/facade design. Creativity may start from almost everything and I started from the alphabet as it is an abstract form between pure abstraction and real-life geometry.
I would like to have your feedback. Also, I saw the book you mentioned Pilou and it seems interesting except for the fact that I do not know even one French word! My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)< I do not know even one French word!
No problem there are only 1 001 sketches! ![]() It's a support of imagination for imagine architecture from a simple drawing and change size! I notice this one because it's exactly your process! ![]() "the alphabet as it is an abstract form between pure abstraction and real-life geometry" I have modelized hundreds of them with Moi3D for the fun but the author don't want that i publish them! ![]() Yep tittles are in French! ![]() Forced grid Portholes checkerboard Flake bar

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)It is getting amazing, Pilou. As you said it seems that AI does not like curves. In fact, as it's "unusual" to have two semi-circle curves in a vertical position as in the letter "B", it iteratively removes those forms. It seems that it could turn into research on what "AI" is or is not capable of.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)OK guys, educate me. What are you referring to/mean with the ter “alphabet”. I am feeling kind of dumb (maybe it is my age setting in
![]() BTW: I installed Krita and BforArtists and am trying to learn how to use the. Yes, I know BforArtists is just s different UI for Blender but I do need to learn how to use it correctly. Krita really looks interesting but is going to takes some time to learn (I think) but it looks pretty powerful to me. I have watched a couple of tutorials and did some reading so far. Any tips would be appreciated. ![]() Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)@ntxdave;
I think the problem roots in my English. I meant "Letters" (instead of the alphabet). I use the letters as a source of inspiration to produce forms. Then Pilou suggested use of AI image generators, that is kind of amazing but far from my intention. I am intended to make the audience to actively produce forms, from "letters" and I have done some as samples. I think when you observe your let me say watch, actively for 10 min, you will remember much much more compared to short glances for a year. This is the power of being active observer. So generating form is not what I am into. I am into active creativity and form generation. By the way what Pilou if suggesting is amazing also, although is not my cup of tea. P.S. I never have tried Bforartists but seems appealing. My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)<< the letter "B", it iteratively removes those forms
It's just question of regulates influence of the start image! ![]() << although is not my cup of tea I can understand that! ![]()
