That's life....

That's life....

Postby Mike Amos » Sun Oct 23, 2022 10:34 am

Well, after my pc failed a while back, my render monitor died last week, as I am looking at a new pc I will have to invest in a new monitor or two or risk this last one going pop too.

I am not in the loop monitor wise and would appreciate any advice folk have.

Ta.

Hi Mike, I had a monitor go South about 2 weeks ago also. I will be buying a second hand one from gumttree. But I will be following this thread with interest ;)

The topic could well be a bit of a minefiled, like many others but I tried second hand items some time ago and the money saved was more than made up for by repair and early replacement costs.

I am going for an investment item tbh so it has to last a long time.

This has been suggested but I reckon the business use with 'occasional' gaming would be insufficient for rendering.

Any thoughts?

Well, having used the new monitor a bit, I have to say it is pretty impressive. It may notbe 8k or even 4k but is proving to be very useful with TW render. LOADS of real estate for tools and the render screen I had thought quite large before is actuall tiny in this new monitor view.

Day one of use but, I like it.

The dreaded ear worm, mine goes to the tune of hissing static for variety or something.
