Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

Re: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

Ok so I did some "research". The liquid I bought is a 50/50. The smokes I were smoking were a "Light". The "burn" I am getting is about the same as when I would smoke a cig down to the butt. So if I go with a 40/60 that would make it smoother, or should I just wait and see if I get used to the 50/50?

Most of my liquids are 60/40 and 50/50 @ 18mg nicotine. The more expensive ones are very smooth, however, I bought some cheap eLiquids earlier on and they are not so pleasant on the throat (and the flavours aren't so good either)

Try vaping at a lower voltage (if you have that option)

I am becoming convinced that it is worth paying a little more to get good liquids which have a nice flavour and throat hit. Some of the Americans seem to do this very well. The Plume Room and GoodLife in particular, and to a slightly lesser extent Mt Baker)

Its noteworthy that liquids with impurities are also very harsh, they are usually cheap. Good advice Gareth.

Could also be the atomiser that is giving the burnt taste. EGOs do deteriorate quite quickly and occasionally I've had one that tastes terrible straight away.

Try a new atomiser head and a new brand liquid. 50/50 mix is generally very smooth. It's only when you start going to 80/20 PG/VG that you get a big throat hit. Remember its the PG that gives throat hit and VG gives large smooth plumes.

If you still don't have any success try an EVOD at least, it's a very popular atomiser and consistently smooth. The EGO is OK but strictly a beginner device which is actually quite infuriating at times as it's so inconsistent. I used one for a month or so before I upgraded.

Please don't be put off by this experience....sounds like you either have a dud device or liquid. :)

That was my first opinion.

Thanks for corroborating that Pete.

Might be an idea to just change the atomiser head first to eliminate what is causing the issue.

I doubt very much that a 50/50 liquid is too harsh. In fact, I find 50/50 almost too smooth so I have gone back up to 60/40 for a bit more throat hit.

Again, don't be put off I think you've just been a bit unlucky.

Spoken like a true missionary!

Although vaping did not work for me (I gummed  ) ... it has been a full year since I quit cigs!

:ecstatic:

I do not miss the butts, ash, or the stink. I have a neighbor two doors down that smokes. When I walk pass his house it reeks of smoke from 75-80 feet out on the street! I used to be generating that kind of stink from our back porch. NO more!

    Nice work Dan!

Yeah smoking absolutely stinks. Not just around your house but clothes, furniture, skin, hair, car etc....

Nearly a year smoke-free for me now.

I'm still on 12mg nicotine, will probably reduce when I get back from holiday.

Speaking of which.....does anyone know what the rules are regarding E-Cigs and travelling by air? Am I even allowed to take my E-Liquid into Switzerland?

I've got a feeling that several unmarked bottles in my main luggage might look suspicious, so should I juist buy some labelled pre-mixed liquids?

Last thing I want is to arrive in Switzerland with confiscated E-Liquid and E-Cigs!!! I am definitely not carrying anything in my hand luggage though, that's obvious.

    Well done Dan.

I must admit I had no idea how bad my house, my car and me must have smelled while I was smoking.....and I don't miss the burn holes in my shirts and car seat I used to get occasionally when I smoked in the car..!

Hey Oli, try vaping on your flight and let us know what happened....!

Strange how the banner thing says 1 year, -1 month lol I guess that means 11 months haha

GREAT work everyone! I bet you all feel much much better.

Well I still smoke about 3 cigarettes a day (weekdays). Mainly because, I can't hold the weight of even my small unit in my mouth and work at the same time  . We get into production runs and I can't stop to take a break, or my crew stops also! I tell them that "If you want lunch you better be able to have a hammer in one hand and a sandwich in the other" so I have to live to the same standards ;) But I have finally got my juice and unit(s) all working where I like. 40/60 24 mg at 4.0

Vape Porn!! I bought a cheap upgrade for my mother to congratulate her for being smoke-free for 12 months.

I really like the Protank2. It's by no means comparable to a Kayfun in terms of flavour but it really is a great clearomiser. The Pyrex glass gives it a great quality finish. I also bought a Protank 2 for myself as a backup to the old faithful Kayfun.

The SID is perfect for the price. Can't go wrong there! First device I've ever had with an OLED screen too!

Here is the Smoktech SID with a Kanger Protank 2 on top. Sorry about poor photo quality, I just used a mobile.

    Happy Vaping guys!

And here is the Protank 2 on top of the Provari Mini. It actually suits the Provari very well. I also placed the Kayfun on the SID just to show what it looks like.

And finally my usual setup....Kayfun on either the Provari Mini or MVP V2. See how battered my Provari and Kayfun look after 12 months! :) I have screwed the Protank 2 on the MVP in this photo just to show how it fits (very well).

@Frederik, that is quite a skill :), reminds me to re-watch Seinfeld, still a good no brain series :)

    @Olishea,
Besides the beveled top, a provari looks sweet and I like it's small form factor. The Kayfun seems to like it too :), nice pictures. I like my Kayfun clones a lot , they are hassle free and consistent as opposed to clearos like errrr...protanks 1,2 or 3 , the heads seem to be hit and miss.

I just bought a Touchwood handcrafted mechanical box mod . 18490 battery sîze.
Loving the feel of it and it vapes really well with that detonator style button.
Rocking it with the simple (and cheap) Igo-L dripping atomizer. Yummy :)

Finally got me a rebuildable mod from TKO a chain of vape stores across US. It has a 2.2 amp atomizer and I'm trying to find a good voltage and amp setting as you can change both with this mod. Not really sure yet what does what as far as the settings go maybe someone can shed some light on the subject for me.

Walt, good job with the mod, it's a good choice. However, be careful with the firing button, it's the weakest part. I'm not saying it will fault, but it's the most common fail of this mod.
Regarding the way you can set this, I would recommend watts. Because, once you find "the sweet spot" for you, you don't need to adjust nothing any more, not even when you put another atomizer on the mod. It will give you the same vaping experience, with every hit you take. Start with 6 watts, then go up to 7,8 and so on, until you are satisfied.
    Cheers,
    Stefan

    Bargain! :)
There are some good Carto tanks on Fasttech, I personally love the X8 as it is small and has a screw to prevent the carto to slide out, very handy.
Concerning cartos, I am sticking to double punched Boge LR cartos.
All the others seem to lack needed airflow.
Cartos really are a more consistent vape than clearos imo.
The only hassle is filling carto tanks, such a mess lol :)

Filling the tank isn't a prob for me. It was trying to prime the wick! Finally figured out I could put a round toothpick in the center tube (very gently) and just fill the thing to the top with juice and let it sit. After topping it off 3 times, I am ready to go! :bounce:

Looks awesome Chris! I bet you're loving it. There's something reassuring about a big box mod, you just know it's built to last. The detonator button is cool!

Yeah I also noticed that about the Protank coils/heads. Some of them last a couple of weeks while some fail after a few days. I was in a bar drinking when one failed, I nearly went home to get another coil!

So, after a brief stint using kanger protanks/BCC, I am back on the old faithful Kayfun. :) Only problem is, my filler valve is completely blocked, so I have to unscrew the top to fill which causes it to flood and lose some liquid. Think I need to buy a new Kayfun at some point, they've got rid of the filler valves on the side now.

I also found a great spearmint flavour that I use for my DIY liquid. It's not menthol, just smooth spearmint flavour. I like to add some to my Juicy Fruit chewing gum flavour. Yum yum!

    well done Oli :thumb:

I recently bought some Aspire BDC Vivi Nova's with glass tanks. They have an exterior metal sleeve (in assorted colours).....in certain light conditions, and especially with some of the clear liquids the two small and thin 'windows'are probably too small to see how much liquid is in the tank, but the vape is very good.

How are you getting on? I found the atomizer to be really good, it's the innokin iclear right? I had one as a freebie and I used it until it stopped working, just never got round to buying coils for it.

Still using up my EVOD coils; I have found these later version coils (with the extended chimney) are very hit and miss. I thought I was imagining it but other people have reported the same issues. Maybe they want them to fail quicker so you just buy more.

Think I'm gonna get another Kayfun. The filler valve on my current 3.1 ES is so annoying. My next one will be the Kayfun Lite Plus which has a filler port at the bottom that you just unscrew; I think The Russian 91 is also like this. In fact I think my Kayfun 3.1 ES has been discontinued for this very reason.

    http://www.cloud9vaping.co.uk/epages/yx ... LITE-PLUS2

I also really like the look of the Luxe mod with Kayfun on top, but for now my Provari is more than adequate, I can't see a reason to change.
