Alphabet to sketch(up)Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Definitely a constructive corroboration!
P.S:To give an explanation and make clarification of the inception of the book, let me draw your attention to Bruno Munary's classic book; Design As Art. I read it 3 decades ago but it is still one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. https://www.giuseppegallo.design/books- ... no-munari/ My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I found this book (Bruno Munari's book ) very inspiring. I am wondering if anybody else has read it.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I am wondering if anyone has read this rather old yet inspiring book?

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I am thinking about it but it's a way down the list at the moment, very busy with stuff.
It does look very interesting, insightful.
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)It is worth reading IMO. I found it inspiring and influential.
The good news is that the paperback version of my book is also available: https://lnkd.in/dGkuAFXW My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Just looked at the pdf about your book again and I need to go off and play with all the letters some more. I have tried to be too precise which can put restrictions on the building designs.
![]() I am still trying to lear both Krita (for laptop) and Sketchbook for iPad to do my sketching. Hope to be able to post something soon. ![]() Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Good to know that Dave. Can't wait to see your progress.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)In order not to corrupt this thread, here is a link to a “learning/practicing” thread on the Twilight Render forum Learning Thread.
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Here is my latest “sketch”. Yes, there are some some glitches.
I am working on modeling this in SketchUp (having some challenges). Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)It definitely is a big challenge, but your most recent sketch depicts a real progress IMO.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Well, here is my latest work. The letter Q was the "inspiration" for this sketch and render.
The windows did not turn out exactly as I had hoped. The reflection seem not to appear in all of them. Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Nice result mate!!
Do you mind sharing more renders from different angles too? My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)
Thanks. At some point, I will. However, some parts were only done for this view so I will have to finish the model. ![]() Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Another practice sketch. Several things wrong that I can to do better before taking building into SketchUp but again learning more about sketching (using Sketchbook on my iPad for my sketches.
Hope you can see which letter of the alphabet is my inspiration. ![]() Here is what I was thinking of/my inspiration for the above sketch. At least you know what I was “thinking” ![]() Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Another nice start.
Needless to declare that there is no obligation to stick to the initial form. I also have shared samples. In fact as it is believed in "lateral thinking" those sketches are to make us think out of box. My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)
I did do some new/multiple renders which I posted on this Twilight Render forum thread Alphabet Inspired Sketches. I am not happy with the results though. I tried to use the trial version of the Skatter plugin but still have a lot of things to learn so I can get tepee landscape and background better. When that happens I will post some new renders. Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)I believe that there is a grass tutorial on Twilight forum (maybe by Fletch). It is viable in postpro. The result is realistic.
P.S. Here is the link to the tutorial: http://twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewto ... f28beb2ffa My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)OK Finally some new images after spending a lot of time learning how to use the Skeatter plugin. Yjeu were rendered with Twilight Render V2
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Sorry, I could not add this 3rd image to the previous post. Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Very neat model and render!

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Thanks guys.
![]() For some reason I made a lot of mistakes when learning how to use the Skatter plugin but I think it is a good plugin for putting vegetation in a SU model. It supports several render applications which allows you to put a number of instances of vegetation in a model without bringing SU to its knees when looking around in your model. Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Majid, this is just for you.............
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)WoW, I appreciate it...
![]() Man! I just realized the meaning of Ais... Thank you I am overwhelmed! The good news is that I will be in Amsterdam in 22-08, and hopefully may meet some of you (my syber friends) in person! My perspective shortcuts book: https://bit.ly/30Tdbce
Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)A little more progress in learning how to use the Skatter plugin. I added the SketchUp logo to the last model.

Re: Alphabet to sketch(up)Just realized that I have dropped some of my initial sketches and so they are not included in the book. So I thought it would be nice to share them here.

Hello Majid, I Wish you have a wonderful time in Amsterdam.
