@#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOutOnce again, please PLEASE just eliminate the double-click to edit SketchUp model reference in LayOut. Just bury that command somewhere. What a pain. Thank you.

Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOut
its really painfull sir, . hopefully it goes away in the next ver. it does'nt help at all sir. only it changes is the view. but not a considerable aid in documents prep. i just hope it goes away in lo. its already good in scene selection to achieve the change in view of the model.. may the bright minds realize that sir. thank you very much.. Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOutIt is really annoying. I try and get round it by having all sketchup 'viewports' in a locked layer. This means you can't double click into them.
Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOut
That's exactly what you should do. I import any Su reference on a layer called 'SketchUp Imports' and lock it unless I need to manipulate the viewport. That way working over the top of it is a breeze... purpose/expression/purpose/....

Yes, that's what you need to do. It's still dumb.

Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOutI have actually been using the click though viewport feature recently, here is why:
So I have a load of internal elevations of a building set up in parallel projection so I can dimension etc... However, I want to also have a 3D view of the elevations. I therefore, just make a copy of the viewport change it to ortho, and line it up as I want. This means I don't have to go back to SU and make another scene. Saves time and scene space. Just lock it after. The feature is still useful. Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOutNo problem having the command, but making it a double click option was not good.

Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOut
That makes you loose link to sketchup scene. You get a model update, a camera update, but you have to manually update styles...I never do it as I also setup perspective scenes in su. I will try it again though as it has a lot of advantages.
That's what all of us MUST do, but locking a layer locks everything about a viewport. You can't scale it, rotate it, change scenes, not even reload it manually. It's not the solution. Disabling the double click edit under preferences or specifically locking certain/all viewports edition, would be a fundamental change.
Re: @#$%^&* edit SU model reference in LayOutJust have it in a right click menu would be a solution I think.
