[Plugin] Group2layer
Makes a group out of the selected geometry. Asks you to make a name for the group when you create it. Also asks you if you want to put it on a new layer named after the group.

Which one of the 2 included rubies should we use ?
The command "Group" of the "Plugins" menu is not a good idea IMHO. Didier Bur (Bytes Farmer)

first of all, I meant to remove version 1.0, I will update the post soon. In the meantime, USE V2.0  second, what does IMHO mean?

We seem to be getting a real variety here with group-naming plugins:
 We have Thom's basic group-naming plugin at viewtopic.php?f=323&t=23582 and Jim's plugin at viewtopic.php?t=9318 which adds the drop-down list capability This one makes the layer name the same as the group name. I've reduced my experience level to intermediate because how can I possibly be "advanced" if Solo lists himself as intermediate!!
