Hi all ! Sorry for my poor english !! Here is a script can soft/smooth (like ctrl+erase tool) 2-face-edges of a selection. And another show all soften edges of a selection. They both work on all entities in the drawing if nothing's selected. soft_2f_edges.JPG I don't know if a similar script exists... ?? All improvements or suggestions are welcome ! EDIT: Now this tool is used in plugin Soften/Unsoften.

Hi Matt, please explain how this is different from the functionality we already have.

Hi Juju. The procedure is different. I'll try to explain with the example above I've made. This script softened and smooth (like Ctrl + eraser) all edges with at least 2 sides connected. Thus, when we created a curved surface, this plugin softened and smooth all the edges except outer edges. Like the example. With native functionality (ctrl+eraser), you have to click on all edges to smooth and soften... I decided to make this plugin due to another, SSB. It created curved surfaces without smoothing or softening. Is it more clear now? And sorry for all the faults

If I understand what you are saying, the ruby softens all surfaces leaving the edges hard. If that is correct, then you can still have points along the way to attach and work to or from. If memory serves me, I can remember softening/smoothing an object only to loose any distinguishable point to work from. Help me understand if I have missed it

I think most SU ruby authors at one point or another end up writing something that duplicates an internal function, either from forgetting (or not knowing) it's native, or from trying to remove a step or two in the workflow process (with varying degrees of success).
We all have our moments...
