Re: A Few More Grungy StylesYou rock dude!!!
I am really getting into the whole style thing these days, my clients are starting to request "different" looks, now I need to learn how to make my own, as I feel guilty asking you all the time (even though you always obliged my every wish)
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesThank you, sir.
No need to feel guilty asking me but you'll probably have fun making your own. If you want any help, I'd be happy tohelp you out. Drop me an e-mail or better yet, call. By the way, I've still been looking for good images for a treasure map style. I found this. It's not perfect but it could work. What do you think? And if you want to try using this to make a style, I've got a higher resolution image for you. Dave Inspecting mirrors is a job I could easily see myself doing.
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesYES!!!!
Thats perfect!!, exactly what I needed, and still need as the project is not completed yet.
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesCool! I like that.

Re: A Few More Grungy StylesThat looks pretty good, there. I'll be watching for the real treasure map.

Re: A Few More Grungy StylesI'm really fond of the coffee stain one...thanks! I scanned actual paper stained with coffee for my final advanced studio project in grad school and layered it with output from SU3 for great effect...none of the jury actually was able to identify the medium and thus get worked up about the fact that I used a computer (still a likely sin, four years ago when I did this).
Now to find something more recent and to try your coffee-stain style on it! Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.

Re: A Few More Grungy StylesDear David,
Thanks for all your efforts. I don't use anything fancy myself, but I appreciate the skill and imagination that goes into making new styles. Regards, Bob
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesThank you all. I like seeing the images you've done with them, too.

Re: A Few More Grungy Styles I'm glad I didn't have a mouthful of coffee when that image popped up! I think she wants some hay. Don't you ever feed her? Inspecting mirrors is a job I could easily see myself doing.

Re: A Few More Grungy Styles Good on you. Inspecting mirrors is a job I could easily see myself doing.
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesThese remind me of the "grungy" graphic style of the British illustrator Dave McKean, one of my artistic heroes. It's very inspiring to suddenly comprehend (or be reminded) how that idiom might be combined with architectural illustration. I have a competition entry in development (not that observatory thing, in case anyone is wondering), and I think these styles, or my own variants on them, might be the key for effective depiction of it.
Thanks again, Dave. Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesDave,
Thank you so much for all your wonderful styles. But now, when I use SU, I try your differents styles on my old SU projects and I never have enough time to draw new projects!!!! Urgen, Your cow is ![]()
Re: A Few More Grungy StylesI'm just about to put a Davestyles folder in my SU. The viewfinder style might be too artsy for the client, though. Liked the cow too. Reminds me of 'Top Secret' with Val Kilmer...
Ain't it a grrrreat day!
