WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialHi,
We've updated WrapR to v1.1 with many fixes and new features... http://wrap-r.com This new version has better visual clues when manipulating UV shells, better texture support and bug fixes. You can download the free trial above by requesting access. The documentation should be ready next week and video tutorials. There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialIs this 3 Apr version different from:
Looks the same i7-4930K 3.4Ghz, 2x GTX780 6GB, 32GB DDR3-1600 ECC, OCZ Vertex 4 500GB, WD Black 3TB, 32TB NAS, 4x 27" Monitors, SpaceMouse Pro, X-keys XK-60
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialIf you got the email we sent out on friday then you are using the latest

Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialThank you very much for sorting the lefty's mouse bug out! Hope in next release Wrap-r will learn to pick up the right (=close to original) map size.
Theoretically speaking (please see attached) do you see the solution for this issue (diagonals breaking perpendicular patterns)? may be some kind of spline unwrap? Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Are you referring to the textures angle between the triangles? To maintain a straight line either side you would need a Projection method. Which is planned. Can you share that file here? So I can play too ![]() There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialMy most most primitive example added. Notice that Wrap-r skips some diagonals for some reason (don't know whether its good\bad\neutral thing). And it keeps scaling maps up.
P.S. So happy to hear projection method is on the way! Hope it will be released simultaneously with Retopo plug-in in near future! Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
OK, I see the issue. Your mesh has all internal edge set to Smooth, Soft, Cast Shadows off. So this is not a true quad face. When you fix that then WrapR can read the faces as Quads... Turn off Live Unwrap when you are straightening UVs to make the process easier. There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialI'm having a bit of trouble. I UV'd most of my model then saved and said yes to continue, and when it reloaded the model, it was back to its default state. Am I doing something wrong? Also how do you install the plugin to work inside of sketchup? Thanks
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialYup we would benefit a lot with an auto reload on sketchup side. Undo would return the mesh to original state.
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
what is the big benefit? There's a frontroom and a backroom....reverse faces
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialNot having to right click reload, allows for faster workflows:
1 - Mark seams on Component#1; Component#2; Component#3; Component#4...; 2 - Send to wrapr, assume auto unwrap, save and close. 3 - Reload happens automatically; 4 - Repeat step two for each component; I intend on using wrapr for such things like multiple windows or doors, or multiple beams in a roof. It's a tedious workflow and any step you could provide to easen the burden would be welcome. That right-click is one such step. I also like when I use sketchup to send a texture to my image editor and it's automatically switched on SU when I save it there. It's not much, but always causes a nice impression on me.
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
There is no right click menu within the wrapr application that I'm aware of. I did all the cuts and unwrapping in the standalone wrapr application. The save button says it saves and then gives you the option to continue working and it reloads the mesh, but it reloads the original without any of the changes to the UV map. As a separate problem the pluging within sketchup does not seem to install for me. Using the rubyinstaller.exe in the folder brings up an empty list of components to select from and says install components. Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialWhat version of SketchUp do you use?

Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Could you please send me a screenshot how the rubyinstaller.exe shows up when you start it separately? Also: Do you get any error messages when you start it up?
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
I had an older version installed, that was the problem so I updated to the latest version and the plugin installed. Now, however after making the cuts in sketchup, and sending it to wrapr it doesn't automatically open wrapr. It creates the component then does nothing and if I try to open the file manually in wrapr it tells me it can't open files with components, so then if I delete the component it opens but doesn't keep any of the cuts I made within sketchup. Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Please open the ruby console before sending to Wrap-R. Are there any error messages when you try to send?
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
It comes up with this error.
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Thank you very much for the information. Soon we will be out with a fix for the problem. Just one more question: Did you change the default install path of Wrap-R when you installed it? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialWrap-R 1.1.3 Beta is available now and can be downloaded from the link:

Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Excellent feature as Sketchup nativelly deals well with .dae Thanks once again Gábor!
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Just went to install the new version & SketchUp still says it's using 1.1.0. What's the best way to install the latest version? When I go to Add Extension in SU Preferences>Extensions it wants a .rbz file which I can't seem to find. Where's the installer file we should use to install the new version?
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Where do you see the version 1.1.0? In the SketchUp Plugin or on the standalone Wrap-R program's window title line? The installation should work like this: You start WrapR-installer_1_1_3.exe. When the installer displays the ruby installer window, you select from the list the SketchUp versions you want the plugin to be installed on. When the installation of Wrap-R is finished, you restart SketchUp and you should see the new plugin there. If it was not working this way then it means a malfunction. To be able to track down the problem, please give us some more details:
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialHow do you rotate the model in WrapR? I can move it side to side with my right mouse button but can't seem to rotate the model to see all sides.
Don't worry, I hadn't mapped my middle mouse button for WrapR. Now I have, all good. I reckon some more detailed help files are required for noobs like me. A .PDF format user manual would be handy. Some of us rural Aussies don't have the most reliable internet connection & can't always rely on online help.
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialHi guys!
I just get back to testing Wrap-r since a couple of very busy weeks, and when i try to activate the new beta license (date 2017-06-08) on the current 1.1.3 installer it shows me the ERROR_A0C Does anyone have a clue about why is this happening? I have tried on a fresh SketchUp Pro 2017 and 2016 installs, Windows 10 64bit. Previous versions worked flawlessly. Thanks in advance! Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
The error message is related to the computer's name check. Have you changed your computer's name since the last install? Also please check if your computer name contains any special characters. Also please try to erase the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Wrap-R\signature.txt file before trying to activate again. If it not helps, please PM me this file and the name of your computer.
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial
Yes! That's it. I indeed changed the computer's name last week. I have just deleted that signature file in the roaming\wrap-r folder and now it has activated perfectly. Thank you for your fast response Gábor! Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialJust tried to open WrapR 1.1 & won't let me activate it. When I load the Free License text I got emailed for Beta testing, it says it has expired or become corrupted.
Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialVisit wrap-r.com and get a new installer and license key.

Re: WrapR 1.1 Beta TrialIs it possible or planned to have multiple components/groups in one WrapR file? Because I use it for hard surface models which all use one texture but it is essential they are divided into separate groups.
Also would it be possible in SU to color the edges directly when marking seams instead of having what seems to be an overlay? Sometimes the green edges are hard to see as the geometry occludes it.
