Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013Thomthom, I love the stylish look of your scripts (both toolbars and execution).
P.S. May I request 'split face by grid' feature please? Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013Uploading a bunch of videos on how to use Architect Tools:

What isn't working? No toolbar, menus? A particular function not working? Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Many thanks, TT!!!! It always helps enormously how the toolset functions when videoed but the author.... ![]() ![]() purpose/expression/purpose/....
Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013This particular toolset is quite idiosyncratic to my own workflow - and not so polished - so it really needs some explanation before anyone can really use this. :s There is much that could be improved - but for the time being I'm happy I finally got around to make the videos.

Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013Good day Thomthom,
Working my through this plugin, looks awesome. Can you by any chance post a drawing (perhaps the base drawing for the video you posted) here? I would like to see the condition of the drawing you started which allows you to run the plugin successfully. Most of the CAd I get is so complicated and poorly put together that I am having trouble replicating what you do in your video. I would like to practice on a better base to see if I can modify what I am getting to work better. Best BP Bob Pineo, Design Develop LLC http://www.designdevelop.org.
Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013The imported map datas I used as foundation to generate the models?

Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013Hi Thomas
Used extension warehouse to install the plugin. I can see it in plugins folder but I do not have toolbar. It is checked under toolbars but does not appear anywhere. Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013This is a painful known issue with first version of v2013, with random problems with new toolbars seemingly 'invisible'...
It is probably stuck underneath a docked toolbar or two in the top bar. Drag the top bar toolbars off so they are floating, and if you see the required toolbar below then double-click it a few times to try and 'unglue' it. Then you should be able to drag it off so it's floating, and then relocate it where you want... Then relocate the moved toolbars as desired. It that doesn't work there is a registry hack... I've posted that in a few threads... do a search... TIG
Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013thanks Tig....it worked. It was hidden behind top tool bars....how bizzare.
However shadow fix toolbar is nowhere to be found.... Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013When a new plugin makes a toolbar for the first time it ought to be made floating in the top left quadrant of the screen. That is the default. Scripters can't affect how it works. But for some yet to be fathomed reason SketchUp 2013 occasionally decides to dock it in the top-bar, which would be so bad BUT it puts it under existing toolbars - which isn't allowed as docked toolbars must always have their own 'space'
![]() I know Trimble are striving to fix it - it's an embarrassing glitch... TIG
Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013Hi,
I use Sketchup 7 and I want to install architect tool. My question is how to install the necessary TT_lib2.rbz on sketchup version lower than 7? Thanks Iza Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools (2.0.0) — 19 February 2013To Auto-Install the contents of a RBZ you need v8M2 or newer. Assuming the plugin will work in say v7 [many do] then you can use the old-way... Change the filetype suffix from the .RBZ file to .ZIP. An RBZ is actually a ZIP with another ending. Extract the ZIP's contents to a temporary folder, you should have a loader rb and a main folder, within that keep all of the files within their respective subfolders etc, where applicable. NEVER move files out of the subfolder that they are shipped in... Before installing the plugin - as an Admin, ensure you have FULL read/write permissions set for all users/groups listed in Properties > Security > Edit... NOW move the contents of the temp folder - in this case the TT_Lib... folder with its subfolders intact and its 'loader' rb into the Plugins folder... Restart SketchUp... TIG

Re: [Plugin] Architect ToolsThomthom, would it be possible to add some tiny but important option to flatten entities by current UCS (not only restricted to the World XY plane as we got it now)?
I did not quite followed the changes in you politics concerning your tools maintenance after relocation to Olympus. Hope it sounds relevant to you now. Thank you in advance. Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools
I think that function is covered by JQS Align. Re: [Plugin] Architect Toolsthis one:
http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=jsAlign ? it won't work with user defined direction of flattening unfortunately.world UCS axis only. Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools
How can you reproduce that? Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools

I'm having a problem flattening my cad import. Ive made faces but whatever I do I can't flatten this part of the road. Ive tried this app but still no joy. any tips on this type of problem
Re: [Plugin] Architect ToolsThere is a easy manual way of flattening anything.
Set camera to top view. Set camera to parallell projection. Export as 2d dwg. Import that flat dwg again. Done. Re: [Plugin] Architect Tools
Simple and effective.
